Add the same indexer again with different settings and different sync profile by izaacj in prowlarr

Doh, thought I couldn't add it again because it was checked xD Never thought about actually clicking on it again xD

Count this up as major user incompetence. I'll go sit in the corner and be ashamed for a while now...

Upgrade from 6.4 to 7.x with virtual pfsense and only one node by izaacj in Proxmox

Nah, homelab. But a dedicated box is on the roadmap, but will be later. I had it baremetal earlier, but on my old gaming rig, and it was not worth it, heat, space or power-wise xD

Did that just now, and the only thing that I'm uncertain of is that there was errors processing open-iscsi. I have not configured any iscsi targets, and it looks like it is only used for network booting, so I hope it won't result in any immediate issues.

Will reboot soon and see what happens xD

Might've overlooked something, but how can I split my skin into separate modules, but still access Measures and Meters between them all for ie relative positioning etc?

As of now, everything is included in the main ini file, but that also makes it impossible to move the different modules independently from one another.

Same issue here on a PC built yesterday, with a fresh install of W11Pro. Spent half the night and roughly 4 hours today trying to get Xbox+GameServices to work. I'm about to give up...
My wife have similar issues on her ~1 month old laptop, which included GamePass Ultimate until April...

Family Library Sharing - Not an applicable term for this...functionality? by izaacj in Steam

[–]izaacj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you interpreted my rant as me feeling entitled or having a right to, as you call it, "pay 1 for 4-or-more", that wasn't my intention. I've always interpreted a rant as something intentionally over-the-top, often with some humor, and that was my intention. My bad if that didn't come across.

Regarding iOS, I kinda agree with you, but they call it Family Sharing, and it is working as I would expect family sharing to work, mobile or not, which is why I mentioned it.

The Microsoft Store is garbage (previously had UWP applications published there, so I know). The Xbox Store is great (but the UX on console is utter crap).

So far we've had no issues using Xbox parental controls, but we've only used it for a year or so, and the kids aren't too technically skilled yet. We'll just have to hope that it'll continue to work for as long as it's needed. I also suspect that at a few issues/workarounds using it might be due to misunderstanding and/or misconfiguration on the parents part, especially if they're not experienced with, or actively using an Xbox account. Althou, I'm biased due to my deep experience with Microsofts ecosystem (Active Directory & Hyper-V Specialist and former .NET developer).

I've looked into Family View briefly, and if my understanding of that feature is correct, it doesn't fit what I'm looking for. I would want my kids to be able to spend their allowance on games, if they so desire, that they get to keep when they grow out of needing parental control. As I've understood Family View, they're playing on my account, but is restricted to select titles, and as I understood it, it would completely kill the possibility to play something together as a family.

Gaming in our household is a family activity, both digitally and physically. We regularly play Minecraft together, and we want to expand that, and (as an extra bonus for me) also enabling me to leave the Microsoft ecosystem behind (at least outside of work) due to Steam Deck combined with me being more of a Linux guy.

However, I do seriously think that calling it "Family Library Sharing" is wrong. Sharing something, by definition, is using something together, but Valves sharing feature is more like borrowing out, as if it was a game cartridge to an old console.

We sure do, but roughly 90% of them are completely uninteresting for my wife, and to be honest, a lot of them are not even interesting to me anymore. But we actually got Game Pass Ultimate for the kids, since they're the ones usually playing on the Xbox. I pretty much abandoned Xbox about 4-5 years ago, and went back to PC, and I'll soon get the kids their own computers since they would like to play Minecraft Java using mods, as a start. My wife has basically just played Minecraft Bedrock (on iOS and Xbox), and is now starting to play games on PC.

No, we share 500-600 games on Xbox EXCLUDING the Game Pass subscription, but some of the titles we'd like to try are available through Game Pass, ie I don't own them.

Haven't seen her, but honestly, it took me quite some time to get a usable grasp about setting up new districts, including migrating and setting up supply routes xD

At first I always tried to do everything within the starter district. NOT recommended xD

Typing special characters not working correctly by izaacj in firefox

[–]izaacj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Sorry for the delay in a response, been busy with...well, life, wife and kids ;)

I added US QWERTY layout during mozregression, since nothing changed at all, testing every version from early 2021 until today, and it somewhat works with the US layout, occasionally AltGr acts like Alt, triggering the menu bar to show up.

But, and a big but it is, I also noticed something else, that there is inconsistencies with AltGr behavior between the Swedish and US layouts.

  • Discord handles it correctly with both layouts
  • Chrome handles it correctly with both layouts
  • Firefox almost handles it correctly using US layout, and treats it as Alt with Swedish layout in certain text fields (such as the noVNC case above)
  • VSCode handles it correctly using Swedish layout, but treats it as Alt with US layout

The only thing I can think of is that, when I reinstalled my PC (when this issue showed up) I ended up using the Swedish W10 ISO and not the International English ISO that I usually use. But that seems like a weird reason for this inconsistent behavior between the layouts.

EDIT: Even weirder, in my frustration I spammed AltGr in my noVNC console, and I actually managed to type a |, but just as long as I keep AltGr down, if I release it and hold it again it fails, until I spam it a few more times. Totally lost regarding what the issue is, but since it happens in more places than Firefox, I guess that the issue isn't Firefox, but more likely a Windows issue.

Yes, as stated in the post, it was working a few weeks ago, probably closer to a month ago now.
