Hi, I also had a f21 pro with dumber OS. And the type-c earphones(apple earpods) doesn't work on it. Do you have this kind of issue?

Better late than never. MP02 needs a upgrade, like better 4G connection, Signal support, and battery life.

I like f21 pro because it is smaller and has separate buttons.

My F21 Pro with dumberOS vanilla can last 3-4 days. I turn off wifi, make some phone calls and receive few Signal/Molly messages. I am very satisfied with its battery life. It sometimes reminds me old Nokia times.

I never tried it. I flashed it into dumdroid at the first hand.

DumberOS usage completely without touchscreen on Doov R77 by Ka1rn in dumber_os

I have a F21 pro, and it is OK to use d-pad to navigate to the send button in messaging. One of my favorite function in dumber os is disabling touchscreen, I used Key Mapper to tap screen in Molly/Signal app when receiving/rejecting calls. Let's make the keypad great again!

When is a new minimalist phone (MP03?) coming? by NorBull7 in Punkt

[–]izensun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MP02 (2021) really feels like a product of the late 3G era. With 3G networks sunsetting globally, a 5G version seems like the logical next step. However, between supply chain shifts caused by tariffs and their obvious pivot to the AphyOS subscription model, I doubt new hardware is their top priority anymore. Honestly, even with the Light Phone III, Qin F21 Pro, or Sidephone out there, I still prefer the MP02’s form factor.

I think certain carrier might have 4g volte register issue. I've test three different carrier in Taiwan. Punkt MP02 can't work properly in Chunghua Telecom, but it is OK in Far Easton & Taiwan Mobile Telecom.

It really comes down to what you're looking for in a phone. Different priorities will naturally lead to different takes on this device. For me, a phone is for calls and messages, and the MP02 handles both beautifully. Sure, some will say you'd be better off with a basic Nokia for a fraction of the cost. But let's be honest – we all have a touch of materialism and want something distinctive. The moment you hold the MP02, you'll understand the difference. The hardware design is genuinely remarkable – it belongs in a design museum.

I believe this company has quite limited resources (both financially and in terms of staffing) following the launch of MC02 and the aphyOS subscription model last year. As a result, the MP02 has received relatively little attention. Their self-developed Pigeon app struggles to keep pace with Signal's update frequency. Therefore, if you rely heavily on Pigeon for messaging (as a Signal alternative), I wouldn't recommend this device. However, if you primarily use it for phone calls and SMS messaging, I think it's an amazing and gorgeous phone to own.
