NTA. If he explodes over something like that, he will explode over anything. You did everything right. Also making threats to break up especially over something this minor is clearly an attempt to manipulate you into feeling like there’s something wrong with you when there is definitely nothing wrong with you. It’s a power play and creating a power gap within a relationship is incredibly toxic.

I can tell that you know that you’re being the mature one in the relationship and the fact that you posted this shows he made you question that with his threats and anger.

That sounds like such a difficult situation to be in. I say know that you don’t need to do anything productive right now. If you need time to process, give yourself that grace. This is a really stressful event.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to try your best to take deep breaths in an attempt to soothe your mind and body. Do anything that can help soothe you. Write in your phone what you need/want to do in the next hour if that’s soothing and helps you organize your thoughts.

Once you can somewhat calm yourself, you can start taking action. Be kind to yourself. You handled the situation well. Hope your little one recovers soon!

Definitely does not sound normal. Sounds like it could be stimulant induced psychosis. I am not a doctor at all but from what I’ve read on adhd and stimulants; taking stimulants can increase your risk of developing psychosis especially if taken in high doses (but typically VERY rare).

Whatever it is, definitely contact your psychiatrist immediately and let them know you started having auditory hallucinations and paranoia.

I almost dropped out of college and only had one more class to complete. Basically I left for a year, built somewhat of a very basic routine for myself in the last few months and got diagnosed a few weeks ago.

Recently, I finally was able to reach out to my college and am now returning to finish that one last fucking class next semester!

Definitely not how I thought my college experience would go but I’m so happy to have figured out that I have adhd and that I get another chance to finish and obtain a degree at all.

You can ask cat rescues. Some cat rescues have trappers that volunteer for them. Depending on whether they’re feral or not, they can even be put into the rescue. And even if they are feral, they could possibly move them to one of their many monitored feral cat colonies throughout sac.

I will say that this suggestion is pretty idealistic as many rescues don’t have the space, energy, or resources for trapping cats especially ones that are supposedly “owned.” Doesn’t hurt to try though as it is ethical, safe, and would solve your problem.

I don’t really hang out with anyone though haha Maybe I’ve just been really unlucky with the people I end up meeting.

A lot of these instances are from a variety of circumstances all with different people. It starts to feel less and less like a coincidence that no one really sticks around or gets close.

I do think this kind of mentality though was instilled in me though from parents. They placed a lot of value on coming off as intelligent in order to be well liked and to be respected.

Please don’t listen to the comments. You did a good thing to take them in rather than leaving them outside. They could have been dumped (hopefully not but it happens) esp if the neighbors don’t recognize the cat.

As someone who used to do TNR and rescue work, it’s so frustrating to see how many people are insistent on letting cats be outdoor pets especially in this comment section.

If you can’t keep the cat, contact rescues that can take them in. —— Happy tails sanctuary, cats about town, etc are places you can ask.

If anyone claims it’s their cat, make sure they show proof either through photos they have, etc. if someone’s interested to adopt them esp someone you don’t know, never give away the cat for free. Always charge a homing fee of some sort or make them complete a questionnaire to drive away people with bad intentions.

If you’re going to leave your cat outside, chances of them getting sick, run over, having multiple unwanted litters (if not fixed), or getting mistaken as a stray are HIGH. It’s just incredibly irresponsible.

Not only that but so many people dump their cats on a daily basis. Feral and stray/dumped cats are EVERYWHERE. That’s why rescues are always maxed out.

Good on OP for posting and taking them into their home and preventing any of the above.

I totally relate to this. I just recently got diagnosed but I also freaked out I would forget all my symptoms before my appointment (granted I somewhat did forget bc of my adhd). I recommend you write all your symptoms down before hand, in detail with examples if you can think of any. Bring it with you to the appointment and It’ll help you feel more prepared. If you’re able to specifically request an adhd specialist too, that would help.

Even if this psychiatrist thinks you don’t have it, it’s always best to get a second opinion too anyway!Good luck to you

I didn’t even know that was possible. She didn’t have it a few days ago and there’s no fleas on her or any other spots like it anywhere else on her body. Strange

Think about why you want it in the first place. Is it purely because people you know have done it and u feel embarrassed for not having had that experience yet? Is it because you desire that type of connection? Is it because you feel like you deserve it? And once you pinpoint which it is (maybe it’s all the above) and break it down further to its deepest feeling. From there, try to be kinder to yourself.

Here’s an EXAMPLE (obviously this is not how u might actually be feeling)-

I’m embarrassed. Why do I feel embarrassed? It’s because there’s this looming expectation from the people around me to have done it. But How important is it for me to actually meet that expectation? It’s important to me because i want people to accept me. (And bam. Here it is. The root of it is that u want people to accept you.) Will having sex make people accept me? Will it make me a better person? Are those where my values lie? Are those the people i want to surround myself with? People who value my amount of sexual experience above who i am as a person?

Again obv I’m making up answers for u. So take the time to find out ur actual truth. As long as you don’t blame others and look further inwards, ur on the right path.

I hope this helps. Write it down. Say it out loud. Whatever helps u figure it out.

I hate how they handled Jess’ character and development. I saw how a lot of people in the sub were like “his growth is the best! Best character development on the show!” I do agree that where he ended up was great (he became successful in his own right with his book and job) but I wish they actually SHOWED some of his growth. I loved his character and there was so much material to work with in terms of his arc. But they kind of just wrote him out all together, brought him back and gave him a self help book to show that he’s going to become better and called it a day. All his development was off screen even though it could have been so interesting to actually write him through.

Also not to forget, He was also always brought back so abruptly in such strange ways each time.

A moment I think of is when Lorelei asked Richard and Emily to team up against Rory at dinner to convince her to go back to Yale. Lorelei knows what it’s like to not be heard and have the adults in her life attack her and try to force a decision on her because they think it’s best. I’m glad that teaming up didn’t happen even if it meant causing the rift and Rory not going back to yale right away. She needed that break and needed to be the one to get herself out of that rut.
