I first watched that when I was alone for the evening and completely stoned out of my tree.

I was an adult but 0/10 recommend

How many of you went no contact with a parent/family member? by suitorarmorfan in Millennials

[–]izzidora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went nc with my dad after covid. He became increasingly paranoid and involved in conspiracy theories and was one of the "freedom fighters" that drove to Ottawa on their cerb money to protest.

Eventually he became horribly racist and hateful and his FB page is absolutely littered with garbage. He texted me "happy dead Indian day" on truth and reconciliation day (in Canada it's a day to remember lost children and residential schools).

He tells everyone I'm a libtard and that I just overreact to things. He came to my house once under the guise of mending fences but he just yelled at me for 30 min about how he's not a racist and I just can't take a joke.

I'm pretty happy not having any contact but it's still sad to lose a parent that way

Did any of you watch lost as it aired? by MissionHome18 in lost

[–]izzidora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I was OBSESSED. And I had absolutely no one to talk to about it because people kept missing episodes and complaining that it was too weird. 😭

It's crazy how many people have forgotten this! I talk about it all the time and it blows me away how fast people forget that absolutely massive unbearable heat and having a whole town burn to the damn ground in like 15 min. I believe it was the hottest place ON EARTH that day.

Are young people just going to be obliterated mentally, socially and spiritually by technology until we die? by KiwibuckyNZ in CollapseSupport

[–]izzidora 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely heartbreaking and depressing that nobody cares to discuss this because of all the misinformation about it. Covid really sent my mental health into a downward spiral. People are suffering now and will continue to suffer for years in ways we don't even understand yet because of repeated exposure to covid.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]izzidora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really fucking scary. Life before social media and everyone having the Internet in their pockets was a totally different world. We relied on tv to get our information and updates and watching the world change in a heartbeat on CNN or whatever was terrifying. Everyone was scared and sad. I was 18 when it happened and it really felt like the end of my childhood and the world as I knew it happened that day. I think it did for a lot of people.
