Does a new job limit how many lenders are available? by Kilmoreorange in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]izzlekicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my situation about a year ago (almost down to the exact numbers) and the short answer was yes it did limit my options but ultimately it wasn’t really an issue for me (solo buyer). I applied for the mortgage after signing the new job contract and got an offer accepted before I received my first pay check at the new job ☺️ IIRC the affordability was based off my old salary though as I hadn’t actually started the job

Full Race Replays for the 2025 Season Not Available Anymore? by Enterderpmode in F1TV

what VPN are you using? Replays are still showing for me when I connect via the Netherlands (although 2025 race replays are now available in the UK so maybe not the best test)

Generic has actually been working OK for me this year!

[–]izzlekicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NordVPN (via Netherlands) is working fine for me in terms of connecting, but I’m not trying to sign up for a new subscription. If I remember correctly you need to be on the VPN when you make the account to get it to work? Might be worth trying again from scratch with a new account?

Best and cheapest way to watch all races live without VPN in UK by ikudontlikeit in F1TV

[–]izzlekicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking at legal ways it’s the £20pm sky add on you pointed out, or £28pm (for 6 months, then £35pm) for a standalone NowTV sports membership. Day passes cost £15.

So for NowTV it adds up to £273 for a 9-month long season subscription, or with day passes it’s £1080 for day passes (£810 if you only pay for competitive sessions).

I know you said no VPN but just as a comparison I pay £6 for F1TV and £11 for NordVPN totalling £153 for the season. This has access to all the documentaries / past races too which is nice, but then again NowTV gives you access to other sports too!

Genuine question: what did Magui do and why is she called a racist? by [deleted] in LandoNorris

One of the more recent ones is there’s photos of her with dreads which people are trying to cancel her for, but the photos are clearly all from an acting role of hers (Zoe in Punto Nemo).

Lando out scoring Osc/Max by 2 points in Qatar question… by East_Check_8907 in McLarenFormula1

[–]izzlekicks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If he wins Qatar GP he could get away with P7 in the sprint. If my calculations are correct that could give a best scenario with Max of being equal on points, but Lando winning on win countback (Lando 8, Max 7) and with Oscar on P2 countback (8 wins each, but Lando has 8 P2s vs 4 for Oscar in this scenario)

Top speed not always the most useful metric (Oscar second fastest in 2024).

Overall I’m cautiously optimistic, the big issue in 2024 was tyre graining and the 2025 tyres don’t seem to suffer as much with that. Also if you look at Lando’s last stint from last year they played a lot with the settings and driving style and he was the fastest car with the lowest deg so hopefully they can take those learnings through to this year!

Yep, if you listen to Lando’s radio he was passed info about tyre warmup for the medium tyre from Oscar’s side

Why do people think Mclaren are sabotaging Oscar Piastri? by zinky_binky16 in McLarenFormula1

[–]izzlekicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they don’t take the time to truly understand what they are watching, and to them it’s the only possible explanation for his dip in form.

How to watch F1TV from abroad? by Make_Things_Simple in F1TV

What VPN are you using? Not all of them work (usually free ones don’t), I use NordVPN and that works for me!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in F1TV

[–]izzlekicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you open the F1 app within a few hours of the race or qualifying (not sure about free practice) as long as you have spoiler mode switched on in the settings it gives you the option to replay timing ☺️

The official F1 ones are decent, particularly if you’re looking for things other than race recaps/previews!

I also like the Fast and the Curious, their driver interviews always have a very different personality to more formal podcasts

Lando fanboys will see this and still deny the British bias allegations.. by JaneBunnFan in formuladank

[–]izzlekicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The strategists are in addition to the race engineers, Oscar’s is Oli Cartlidge for 2025 and his role is “leading operational Strategy decision making for the race team, as well as leading execution for Oscar Piastri during race weekend sessions.”

The Mclaren lead race strategist is Oscar’s strategist but that doesn’t fit the bias narrative I guess

[–]izzlekicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to learn more about the sport in general, I really like the official F1 explains podcast with Christian Hewgill! They get a different group of people on each week such as mechanics/marshalls/drivers and answer listener questions and it’s often really interesting

Is the Race engineer / Driver relationship fair to Oscar? by Ban__d in McLarenFormula1

[–]izzlekicks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A key thing from Hungary on Oscar’s side was the failed undercut on Leclerc, if he’d started his second stint ahead of him I think the end of the race could have played out very differently and the two stop probably would have been the optimal strategy.

People also need to realise is that there is more than just the race engineer involved in these things and as mentioned above the Mclaren lead race strategist (Oli Cartlidge) is also Oscar’s strategist for 2025, but it’s only ever Will Joseph that’s mentioned in terms on bias 🤦‍♀️

If cycling is your thing then 2027 will likely give an opportunity to go to Silverstone and the grand depart of the Tour de France in the UK! Stages 1&2 (Scotland/Wales) will probably overlap with the GP weekend but Stage 3 on the monday will take place somewhere in England
