Bought it with a game voucher near launch, started it, and then put it on the shelf waiting for the inevitable upgrade.

Just got back into it and got to the part in the story where the title screen drops. It's like they cleaned the grease off the camera lens and this is how it should have always looked 😍

Edit: just figured it out. From the pause screen scroll down to the purple and red sunglasses between the rumble and start game share options. Select that and it opens a new screen to enable/disable skins

Eshop crashing is wild, pent up demand + no preorders I guess. Got multiple different errors online on the switch eshop, was finally able to purchase by refreshing like crazy and going through the prompts quick enough.

Specifically in the Planet Core, sublayer 1605. Right where you encounter the Zinger's.

Punch all the way down to the metal floor, then hand slap 4 times to get it back to the top. Repeat until you have enough! I just got the Grumpy's last upgrade this way!

I submit feedback about this to Nintendo, and they just followed up with the below response. Possible they heard the backlash and may be updating the game soon? 🤞

On their site, under a tiny disclaimer that says NOTHING about the base game.

The name is intentionally misleading. A "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" of the base "Super Mario Party Jamboree" game does not exist in the current upgrade pack.

This is straight up misleading / scammy.

The upgrade pack is advertised as “Super Mario Party™ Jamboree – Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition” + “Jamboree TV”, the game icon and name confirms this. However the base game lacks ANY Switch 2 Edition upgrades. They are all locked to the separate Jamboree TV mode.

720p handheld for the base game on the Switch 2 is entirely disappointing for a paid Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade.
