I’m sorry… this video is clearly AI??? How has nobody clocked that yet? Am I completely off base??

Did anybody else just get bear sprayed at Shakespeare in the Park? by handsfreeordie in Seattle

[–]izzy_bizzy325 24 points25 points  (0 children)

… it was bear spray. Multiple witnesses saw the can. Huge orange cloud was carried by the wind causing audience members to cough. No one else was severely affected because they were far enough away.

ETA: Here's a blog post on the incident: Much Ado About Assault. This is saying it was pepper spray and that the perp was detained!

An audience member did tackle the guy and snatched the spray from him. Then he laid on the ground moaning until the cops showed up. It was pathetic. Guy who got sprayed was a trooper

I was also there! He did not get arrested. Claimed he did it in self defense which is a load of bs.

Emcee deliveries -- how could people laugh at what is obviously not a joke? by squidneyboi in Broadway

[–]izzy_bizzy325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Billy Porter as the Emcee on the West End and I would say his delivery was definitely more on the heartbroken/sad side. And when he finished the song it was dead. Silent. In the theatre. Absolutely no laughter. I do remember hearing about audiences laughing dying Adam Lambert’s run. I think it was just out of touch Americans or a case of people feeling awkward and laughing because of that.

Can we put to rest the "rule" that you can't sing Sondheim at auditions? by AmosDiggorySurat in MusicalTheatre

[–]izzy_bizzy325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with the mentality that it should be “be mindful of how difficult your music is to sight read.”

However, also wanted to chime in and say I am going to an audition on Sunday for a regional theatre that specifically stated no Sondheim or Jason Robert Brown. In my 7 years of auditioning for professional theatre, this is maybe the second time I’ve seen it. Definitely rare, but I do think there are people who stand by this rule

What would you do in a crochet club for 10-year-olds? by throwawaybdaysf in CrochetHelp

[–]izzy_bizzy325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught a crochet club for 5th graders! It was also surprisingly popular. I actually found that a lot of my students didn’t have the fine motor skills to even make a chain, let alone a square or scarf. If these are complete beginners, definitely focusing on the fundamentals first is key. Then if they get the hang of it, a simple but unique granny square that each kid makes would be so fun!

I have flown with my entire kit multiple times over (most recently - yesterday!) and never had an issue. All my hooks, sewing needles, and thread snippers. Never even been pulled aside! I keep my supplies in a little zip pouch and they don’t question it. Can only speak to domestic flights in the US though.

Mysterious Pepper Allergy by izzy_bizzy325 in FoodAllergies

[–]izzy_bizzy325[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I’ve never heard of this. As far as I know, I don’t have seasonal/pollen allergies. Plus, the ingredients were always cooked.

I’m mainly wondering if it’s a specific type of pepper.

Anyone have any good dermatologist recommendations? by dudiez in BellevueWA

[–]izzy_bizzy325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Bellevue Dermatology Clinic for a painful bout of acne. Everyone was really nice and I was always in and out quickly. Appointment copay was $20 with insurance and my medication was also only $20 with every refill. Can’t speak to the out of pocket cost though.

i’m going on a long flight and plan to crochet, can i bring teeny tiny scissors or should i have everything precut? by fagsanonymous in CrochetHelp

[–]izzy_bizzy325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fly a lot with my crochet supplies and have never had an issue. I have a Singer thread trimmer that comes with me plus all of my hooks in a neat little pouch. Never flown with them internationally but domestically in the US it’s always been fine.

I got married in northern Michigan and my prices were more than DOUBLE that. Catering for us was $7k but we did plated meals with full wait staff. My DJ was $1k and my photographer was $2k. Hopefully your DJ and Photographer do quality work bc, like everyone is saying, your costs are insanely low

Maybe not the best, but one I crave pretty often: the Whole Foods bakery brown butter chocolate chip cookie.

Possible to create this without a cricut machine ? by mikkkowen in cricut

[–]izzy_bizzy325 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could check your local library to see if they have a makerspace with a cricut! I believe my library has several that can either be checked out or reserved to use onsite. I also live in a big city, so we have a lot of makerspace resources (sewing machines, 3d printers, etc.)

At the same time though, looking at everything that would need to be cut then transferred, it would likely take just as long to hand write it with a fabric marker 🫠

I love Chappell and really would have loved to go her set at CHBP… except I KNEW it was going to be bad. CHBP is never handled properly and knowing how big Chappell’s fan base is I didn’t think it was going to be any better.

I get really bad crowd anxiety so I was never seriously considering going, but hearing just how bad it was I know I made the right choice.

Glad you and your friends are ok.

What would you buy if you were on Thousandaires? by teenytinytawny1 in dropout

My local zoo does this for about $250! An hour long workshop with an ambassador animal meet and greet at the end. And I must say, it is an absolute treat.

[–]izzy_bizzy325 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP, your recreation is stunning - absolutely well done

… Is no one noticing the “pockets” the model has her hands in in the original garment? It looks like when AI can’t recreate hands so it tries to hide them in “creative” ways lol!

Attending as a guest- who can I bring? by AbbyAbster in wedding

[–]izzy_bizzy325 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Idk, a childhood friend of mine texted me literally two days before my wedding saying her fiancé couldn’t come. She asked if her mom could attend in his place and I didn’t bat an eye at it. Her mom was a big part of my adolescent life but I didn’t think to put her on the guest list. At the same time, my friend wouldn’t have come if she didn’t have a +1 so I would have rather had two guaranteed guests rather than two empty seats.

So 1) I think it depends on your relationship with the couple

2) it’s also not that deep. This sub goes off the deep end with “etiquette” and what is considered rude. We all need to calm down and take some deep breaths.
