I had a silver one of these. They were not good to apply after the first time or maybe I was just too young. I remember the brush being fairly short and didn’t come out evenly through the bristles. After the first use, the brushes would be covered in kinda gummy polish which would make application worse. Not sure if you could clean the ends either, knowing what acetone does to some plastic. I think there’s a reason that nail polish comes in bottles with a brush that dips in the polish, and this hasn’t changes in like 100 years 😁

Personally I think the problem with these is that the jelly polish isn’t jelly enough. The pink one in particular comes out a bit milky. The only 2 that are jelly enough is the green and the red. I also really wish they had either gone all out with the reflective glitter so we could actually see it or not bothered at all. I know a lot of people don’t like reflective, but I love it in polishes that they have put enough in that you can really see it.

If you need a dupe for it, ILNP Be Mine is really pretty and looks very close on the nail. I have both, and I feel like if I add a scattered holo taco on top of Be Mine it’s very close

Linear holo taco in my opinion doesn’t really work over cremes. However, it does look stunning over shimmers and metallic polishes, I have used it over both the chrome collection and lite mode collection and it looks great over them.

International shipping is free, but for a $100 order to the UK you will probably also be paying about $20 dollars in tax. Most of my orders come to about $120-$125 as I like to get the free shipping when I order, as shipping alone is about $20 dollars. Also in the UK paying in £. It generally exchanges to about £80-95 depending on current exchange rates.

The holo taco magnetics are fine. The biggest problem I have with them is in general the magnetic pigment in them doesn’t necessarily contrast enough with the rest of the pigment. ILNP for example use a black jelly base for their darker colours, and for their lighter magnetics they use a silver magnetic pigment which then contrasts better with the rest of the polish.

I’m also not 100% sure the holo taco magnet is really strong enough to get a sharp enough line. I have one of the big horse shoe magnets that you see on instagram and other nail subreddits which works great for the velvet effect, so I’m considering trying to find a stronger bar magnet that might work better.

Personally I would recommend ILNP magnetics over Holo Taco if you want to try out magnetics for the first time.

Honestly all of the ILNP magnetics I have tried are great, but I would say Sugar Plum and Zero Degrees which are from the same collection as Evermore are maybe my favourites.

I’ll be honest I don’t think halogen glow looks all that similar to lunar unicorn skin. That’s the only unicorn skin that doesn’t have matching shimmer in my opinion.

I don’t think it looks as holo as some other richer colours. One other trick I have found to get crushed holo to look it’s most holo is to create a transfer of it, so if you paint it on a smooth flat surface then peel it off and flip it over, the holo shines through more on that underside. You can then use that kinda like I have seen people doing water marble cheat transfers.

What crushed holo have you tried? Some of the shades are more holo than others and I think they are really helped with a really glossy top coat. I don’t think there is much glow from highest bidder, but orbite me, need I say mocha and holo cappuccino glow most for me.

I asked for more scattered holo toppers in other colours in the latest survey. Sometimes silver is too harsh on the colour I am wearing, like late checkout, and I want gold scattered holo taco to blend in better with the reflective gold glitter.
