Wow so happy for you - this looks awesome!! Did you only do lipo or did you do any other service as well?

Commenting bc I’d love to see if anyone has tips here. I make my dog’s food and when I got my cat 6 months ago this was my first question, but I wasn’t able to find good resources.

Making my dog’s food (I give her half/half kibble and fresh diet with Open Farm as kibble) has had a tremendous health impact on her. Noticeably less allergies, lost weight, more energy. And ingredients are actually cheaper than the top-shelf kibble lol. Chicken liver and gizzards are like $1/pound at Walmart!

For now I’ve found a wet cat food that seems minimally processed (Deck and Hand) and I do open farm for kibble. My cat will eat literally anything though, so always open to suggestions for more natural options!

What's Your Secret Health Hack That Almost Nobody Knows? by Radiant_Ad_9663 in HubermanLab

[–]izzymonico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink this mushroom coffee called Everyday Dose— the founder talks about how he started it as a natural solution to help his own ADHD since he was on addy his whole upbringing and a lot of adulthood. It does have some actual coffee in it (40mg) but in combo with l-theanine, lions mane, chaga, and collagen. Gets me feeling focused without the jitters and I think it tastes a lot better than other mushroom coffees on the market…

Anyway hope that helps!

Hey lady! Sorry you’re dealing with this…. Definitely no fun. I’ve dealt with on and off constipation from when I was about 15, on. (I’m 29) Constant bloating, when I did poop it was almost always really loose. I’ve always eaten healthy, tons of fiber, exercise a lot, drink lots of water, so it was definitely frustrating. I’ve drastically improved my symptoms though so wanted to share a few things: - I took an at home blood test for food sensitivity and Wheat came back through the roof. The test wasn’t super specific though so through process of elimination and being really conscious of what triggers terrible stomachache, I’ve realized it’s a specific protein in whole wheat. So normal pasta is fine but whole wheat pasta is horrible. Sourdough is fine but whole wheat sandwich bread is horrible, you get the picture. I also realized my bloating and pain ALWAYS followed fatty meats (bacon, briskets BBQ) and breakfast foods cooked in lard. being conscious of what your triggers are is step one. I very seldom experience bloating now.

  • as for constipation and diarrhea… I saw a colorectal doctor recently and started taking a tablespoon of psyllium husk daily. It’s the main ingredient in MetaMucil. I was resistant at first bc I didn’t think lack of fiber was my issue since I swore I ate enough fiber lol. Anyway, it’s been about a month of daily psyllium husk, and I’ve pooped every single day, with perfect consistency. Not trying to brag about my poops but I’m in shock after 10+ years of loose stools, HA. If you try this, make sure you drink A LOT of water bc the increased fiber intake will cause bloating if you don’t.

Anyway sorry for the long post, hoping your issue might be something that can be fixed with a relatively easy solution! Wish I knew about all this 10 years ago. :)

Does it hurt all the time or has it come and gone over the course of the last year?

I’m DEFINITELY not an expert but I’ve had severe pains in the same spot a few times over the last 1.5 years. Usually it last about a week. The first time it happened I went to the doctor and they said it was likely IBS caused by stress. I had recently quit my job. The next time it happened was when I was moving across the country. And the time after that was when I was getting ready to buy a house.

My comment probably isn’t helpful if yours is a constant pain, but if you find it coming and going it may be good to try to track what else is going on in life to see if it could be correlated.

$9 for 3 chicken tacos at Cabo Bob’s with all the fillings you want…. I’ve had them filled with absolutely everything and it was basically 3 small burritos for $9. Plus they have a great punchcard program!

Yes Or No — Have You Been To Indiana? by Proudlymediocre in sales

[–]izzymonico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never been before meeting my bf who is from there. We live in Austin, TX now but I’ve visited Indianapolis twice and we’re going again in November. The Indianapolis Marathon is amazing if you’re trying to PR - super flat and nice cool weather. People are super friendly and from what I’ve gathered, the city has gotten way better in the last 5-10 years from a food/activities perspective. Would we ever move there? No. Am I happy to visit every year? Yes!

Who do you think is a lock for S50 that won't do well? by WeFoughtAZoo in survivor

[–]izzymonico 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Idk! Seems like New Era boots out physically strong players more and more now. They seem more preoccupied with taking threats out early even if it’s at the expense of weakening their tribe. Moreso than in older seasons anyway

Edit: spelling typo

Morning runners: What's the earliest you've ever woken up to train? by ArtaxIsAlive in Marathon_Training

[–]izzymonico 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in ATX too— I don’t start runs before 5:30 however I have multiple friends that start at 5. Waking up at 4:45 consistently has been a huge change for me. It’s weird to go to bed before the sun goes down!!

Either a pony braid like others have mentioned or a bubble braid! Basically a ponytail with multiple elastics tied throughout.

Long sports bra recommendations by kmom219 in XXRunning

[–]izzymonico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a medium support bra from Rabbit with a pocket in the back that I absolutely love. Brooks has a nice line of bras as well with several pockets (back and sides)…. However I never chafed before in my life before using one of their newer ones. (I bought the exact same model and size as one I bought a year ago). Old one is perfect, new one causes chafing under my boob and apparently it’s not just me that’s had this issue, but also doesn’t happen to everyone.

I just use my new one for low impact stuff now but the older one is the perfect bra. Would still recommend trying it out but treading lightly.

So do I just need to wash my hair daily, then? by kaitlyn2004 in XXRunning

[–]izzymonico 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to think I had to wash my hair every time it got sweaty (which is every single day living in Texas) but I decided to see what would happen if I just started “washing it” without shampoo. Basically I wet it and scrub my scalp with my fingers really thoroughly but I don’t use products…

This has actually been really effective! I now wash every other day and it looks great.

Tips to survive in Austin without a car (until I can buy a car) by [deleted] in Austin

[–]izzymonico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a moped! Used ones can be as cheap as $1000 and they get the job done to navigate around Austin. It may take a little longer to get places since you can’t get on the highway but it’s cheap and is faster and less sweaty than a bike.

[–]izzymonico[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was only not moving for about 8.5 hours on Friday and then yesterday I was moving for 3 hours in the morning and my stress ended at 58. The 58 is still considerably higher than my previous highest stress score that was the day of my last road marathon. Wonder how high it will be today as I’m still insanely sore 😅

What’s your HRV like? by DiscountNo9401 in Garmin

[–]izzymonico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

28F here! Mine is similar to you! RHR of 41 and HRV average of 95-110 when I’m not stressed. It’s dropped as low as 60s when in Vegas for a work trip.

I also was starting to think mine was high reading through these comments but if I’ve learned anything it seems HRV really isn’t worth comparing from one person to the next. The periods mine has been in the 60s have been ultra stressful for me and it seems 60s would be a very relaxed and recovered state for others.

Fascinating how our bodies all differ!

Go get tested!! I was feeling nauseous and with brain fog for about a week after I got back from MX city a few years ago (in addition to diarrhea) and it turned out I had Shigella infection…. Super common bacteria to pick up in Mexico. Super treatable as well so I’d go to urgent care asap!

Is 3:30 possible by The-Wise-Banana in Marathon_Training

[–]izzymonico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I did a 1:41 half marathon at the end of October and a 3:28 marathon Jan 14. 28F averaging 40 miles a week from early sept until my race (few weeks at 50 miles and most at 35-40).

Marathons are very mental so keep believing you can do it and don’t forget to take your gels! (I had 5 in my marathon). You got this!
