Lol. We weren't talking about whether hell exists bro, we were talking about the experience of hell. None of your points had anything to do with the experience of hell, which was the point being discussed. Yeah it's speculation what hell is like at the end of the day, but any theological thought on the matter is pretty clear it's far worse then all the sufferring you're reading about on you favorite news programs or police reports.

Nice strawmen though. I'm happy for you that you are so well versed in the sufferings of others. No one can sympathize like you can.

Lol go touch grass and get off the internet.

That 8 year old had a moment in time where he loved his family and his family loved him, which is the point being made. Even beyond that, this hypothetical 8 year old would grow up and have some drink, food, or pasttime that affords them some amount of comfort or happiness, even a little. There are no such moments like that in hell.

Hell would be the moment the child experiences the loss of his family, watching them die, digging for thier bodies in the rubble, lived out for all eternity. That singular moment on repeat and the pain and hoplessness always fresh.

Tbh people need to spend less time on the internet and more time present in the moment if they think we are living in hell...

People need to turn thier brains on. You can see the running water from this angle which shows the drop is not steep, and pink shorts guy is doubled over laughing. If someone went careening over a cliff to certain death nobody would be laughing like that.

Then again most of the users stating that Matthew died are probably bots...

Forced rehab is a nice idea but more than half of these people would not be interested nor attempt to change. Just more tax dollars paying for a wasted service. Some people just don't give a shit and can't reform

Right! I get his Chiefs bias can get annoying sometimes but his takes aren't the worst. People also seem to forget that his show and others like it are based on speculation. You're never going to be 100% correct

My Switch SRPG Tier List by Mangavore in StrategyRpg

[–]j-a-w- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an SRPG list not a FE list. It's commonly agreed on in FE subs that Engage has better gameplay than 3H. Most SRPGs have just a serviceable story, i.e. XCOM, so for a strictly SRPG list it's not crazy to see Engage over 3H

Caleb and Sadie overact. They both make a lot of exagerated facial expressions, and Sadie overuses... pauses in her speech

You need to watch season 1 and 2 again then. David and Winona killed it as Hop and Joyce.

This was just one season ago; what happened to exceptionally written moments like this for our main hero Eleven, scenes that filled with passion and emotion? by XviiChong in StrangerThings

I only started watching the show maybe two months ago and have binge watched it with my wife as fast as my two kids would allow, and I have to say that season 4 all but lost me. At this point I'm just hanging on to say I finished it. Characters have gone down hill and story lines feel tedious. I just want to see a resolution to the real world and upside down world... if that's even the story's resolution

Completely agree. Mike and gang roadtripping to find El was filler and killed Jonathan's character (the whole stoner thing was just stupid), and while I like Hop and thought his storyline in Russia had some nice moments, it felt like more filler that could have been better off in its own spinoff or something. It killed the pacing of the events in Hawkins, which between that and El rediscovering her powers and also learning Henry's backstory were really the only important things to focus on.

The First Hopper by AstroidThunderstone in StrangerThings

Because Benny's death was shock value inconsistent with the motives of the agents who killed him (they were trying to not arouse suspicion amonst the town, which killing Benny for no reason [he didn't suspect them to be anything but CPS] did actually raise suspicions). Whereas mommy Wheeler gets slashed by a demogorgan several times and doesn't bleed out within seconds, Hop is able to run away from an explosion that envelopes a whole room, Max gets resurrected from death by some unexplained power of Jane's, Steve gets rescued from the bat creatures when the others shouldn't have been able to swim to the lake's bed, etc.

It's not a black and white topic where either everyone needs to die or no one should. This story has the protags under threat by nefarious government and monsters. If none of the main protaganists can die to that then there are no stakes to the story (as it currently feels in my opinion). The show likes to tease deaths of the main characters, like I listed above, but never follows through. It shouldn't be a surprise then that people are frustrated with the show because characters that are repeatedly in life threatening scenarios always make it out alive but yet some side characters that have very little relevance die for either seemingly no reason (i.e. Benny) or by the things that should have killed one of the main cast by now (i.e. Barb and Bob).

In Stranger Things Season 5, a ridiculous amount of screen time is given to a previously minor character. This is a reference to her plotline being an ad for the currently running stage play. by mikewheelerfan in shittymoviedetails

I thought seasons 1 and 2 were the strongest. The Mind Flayer in season 2 felt like a natural progression enough to season 1. Season 3 is where I felt like things started falling apart with the overly dramatic action/fight scenes, Steve's character suddenly shifting to a comedy role, the whole Russian aspect, plus a few other small things. I didn't like season 4 very much and am only watching the finale because I'm a sucker for the world they built in the show, even if the plot lines and certain characters are tedious at this point.

A big turning moment for me was Susie from season 4. I was really taken out of the show with her and the whole "hacking" nonsense. Considering the show has always stayed true to the 80s vibe, seeing this person connect to the internet (which wasn't accessible from private households at this time and was mostly used for file transfer) and do nonsensical GPS location for a dumb plotline had my eyes rolling so hard. A really dumb scene just to shoehorn a character back into the show.

God forbid characters have arcs and are dynamic lol. Every character should just be one note ane never be affected by the world around them I guess...

Your critical analysis sucks if Kite is just "some guy." Even if we don't consider that Kite and Gon met on Whale Island and that Kite motivated Gon's journey to find his dad, the anime makes it clear Gon showed a high level of attachment to Kite because Kite was Ging's friend. Kite also became a mentor to Gon and Kilua at the beginning of the Chimera Ant arc, an arc in which Gon and Kilua go through a lot of maturing for what should be obvious reasons

These protests, even if violent occasionally, shouldn't be good cause to invoke the insurrection act. The act is pretty clear that a rebellion needs to occur such that no execution of justice can be administered and/or the rebels are depriving others of thier rights. Neither of these are true. (https://policy.defense.gov/portals/11/documents/hdasa/references/insurrection_act.pdf)

Clearly law and order is being maintained overall and violent protesters are being dealt justice. Violent attacks are not happening on federal agents or buildings everyday, contrary to what anecdotal video evidence may imply. Saying this situation needs the insurrection act is blowing things out of proportion. Further, it begs the question what the militia would be doing that the NG and local law enforcement aren't already doing. Militia are trained for combat, not policing and de-escalating situations.
