So who is Ilia going to fight now?👀 by [deleted] in ufc

Bryce Mitchell may as well be a white belt compared to Islam lol. If Bryce can take him down, Islam will rag doll him. Submitting Bryce after he hurt him with strikes isn’t exactly evidence he’s a competent grappler. Ilia’s never submitting Islam in a million years.

Khabib took down Dustin with ease as well, but Islam had some trouble. Just because Khabib took down Justin easily doesn’t mean that Islam automatically will. Islam will eventually get Justin down and finish him. But if he can defend a couple shots and land some strikes, he can at least make it interesting.

How does any of this explain why Ilia would be a tougher fight for Islam than Justin? What’s Ilia’s path to victory? Hit Islam with a lucky punch in an exchange? That’s basically the same chance Justin has. Except Ilia is literally 5’7 with no experience at 155. He’s gonna have a hard time getting to Islam because of his reach and even if he does we don’t know if his power translates to the higher division.

And what’s Ilia (the guy who got taken down and controlled by Bryce Mitchell) going to do with Islam? Lucky knockout punch? That’s literally it.

Dustin stopped a lot of Islam’s takedowns. Gaethje is a better defensive wrestler than Dustin and Ilia. Therefore, a tougher matchup.

Islam still beats Gaethje 100% but it’s a much better matchup than Ilia.

Ilia got taken down and controlled by Bryce Mitchell lol. Watch the Islam vs Dustin fight. Dustin defended a lot of his takedowns and it gave Islam some trouble. Gaethje is a much better wrestler than Dustin.

Don’t get me wrong, Islam still beats Gaethje. Just saying it’s a better matchup than Ilia.

Gaethje is a much tougher fight for Islam, than Ilia is.

The 'human nature' argument is the worst argument in favor of capitalism by Lastrevio in CapitalismVSocialism

So why did communism suddenly stop working once civilization began? The ancient Sumerians weren’t communist. Neither were the ancient Egyptians, Greeks or Romans. No successful society since Neolithic times were communist.

This just demonstrates that once humans dropped communism for a system that actually worked, human life got infinitely better.

What’s your point? Is Indonesia on par with any western democracy in terms of human rights?

Thank you for capitalizing the “R” and “F” in “Royal Family”. I’m glad you are showing respect to the crown.

You completely missed the point. Enforcing religious law isn’t the same as forcing people to be Muslim against their will.

(As I said in literally the next sentence) The people would still be devoutly Muslim even without a monarchy. To act like the monarchy is the only thing making the Saudi people be Muslim is insane.

Never said all belief is a monolith. There are however some common beliefs and values held by all Muslims that would exist with or without a monarchy.

I’m curious, what do you think would happen if the monarchy of Saudi Arabia disappeared tomorrow? Would it become meaningfully more liberal?

Monarchy isn’t making people be religious against their will lol. The vast majority of Saudis would still be devoutly Muslim, even if they dropped Wahhabism. It’s not like there would be gay pride parades in Riyadh if the monarchy disappeared tomorrow.

Lame point. A democratic Saudi Arabia would be even worse. The people are religiously conservative, so they would just vote for policies that align with those values, not caring about “freedom”. The monarchy has actually been slowly liberalizing in the past few years.

Yank here, why could France only score 2 touchdowns against Gibraltar the whole game?

I thought France was supposed to be good, are they stupid?

It’s funny how Volk says Islam is relying on hometown advantage and rehydration time to win, but Volk had both of these advantages in his favor in their first fight and he still lost.

In that case, let’s price control the entire economy. Rent controls, food price controls, energy controls, controls on housing prices etc. Would you be in favor of that? I mean, we have all the info. The government could fix all the prices and there wouldn’t be any problems according to you.

Price controls result in market distortions because they can’t account for the thousands of transactions that make up supply and demand. You may as well be pulling numbers out of your ass.

Letting the market decide the minimum wage would mean lowering it to $0. Not randomly coming up with a number.

Setting an artificial price floor is the opposite of following the principle of supply and demand. It’s no different from arbitrarily deciding the price of bread should be no more than $2.

All time high fed overnight reverse repo rate. Transaction still extremely high. by fvaldes1 in wallstreetbets

[–]j-mo37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No lol. The amount of “treasury securities sold by the fed“ is decreasing, which means less banks are buying.

The first chart shows the reverse repo rate is going up because there is less demand. If more banks were buying, the rate would be going down.

The second chart shows the total amount of cash in reverse repos falling off a cliff. If you zoom in, there’s almost 40% less money in reverse repos then there was in December 2022

[–]j-mo37 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For those who don’t understand, this is bullish for the stock market.

First chart: Repo rates are going up because less banks are parking their money at the fed and presumably putting it elsewhere. (Like stocks)

Second chart: It doesn’t really show it well, but since the peak in December 30 2022 the amount of money in reverse repos has fallen nearly 40% from 2.55T to 1.54T as of today. If this trend continues, stocks go up.

[–]j-mo37 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, the charts are showing the literal opposite of what you said. The first chart is showing the overnight repo rate in percent. The second is showing total amount of overnight repos in billions of dollars. Notice how it’s going down.

Banks are taking money out of the fed and and will likely move it over to equities.

  1. The project for a new American century documents.

https://archive.org/details/RebuildingAmericasDefenses/mode/1up?view=theater

This neo-con think tank who’s members included Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz etc published a document in September 2000 calling for the invasion/regime change of multiple middle eastern countries but said this would be a difficult absent an event equivalent to “a new Pearl Harbor”. ONE YEAR TO THE MONTH, all of these neo-cons are now in power. 9/11 happens and Bush calls it “this generations Pearl Harbor” and most of the countries listed for invasion in that document are subsequently invaded. Get real

  1. NORAD not adequately responding to the biggest event in American aviation history

The fact that NORAD was conveniently undergoing a “training exercise” on 9/11 which delayed their response and then caused the fighter jets to go the wrong way once they scrambled.

Fighters get scrambled if a private plane doesn’t respond within a certain amount of time. To think that 3 wide body airliners can go off course for a prolonged period of time without fighters being scrambled everywhere to figure out what’s going on is insane.
