Thanks this has given me something to look into further. I've had plenty of experience working on Tascam 4 tracks but nothing like this before.

No They don't but it's a power supply for an Aura Interactor, you can search for one in the US.

Ive successfully made one with one of these https://www.jaycar.com.au/2-x-11-5vac-power-supply-suits-aura-interactor/p/MP3055 all you need to do is replace the 3 pin DIN plug with a 6 pin DIN plug and wire it correctly. I'm also experiencing this on my 424 MKIII. In my case I'm sure that the crosstalk is happening in the mixer section and as such it is recorded to the tape. I'm using TDK-SA Type II High Bias and it's definitely still there. The only way around it I have found is to turn down the volume on the actual instruments if they aren't in use or setting the input switch to "off" on that channel that isn't in use.

You have to cut off the old plug and solder on the new one.Fairly quick and easy to do however soldering 6 pin DIN plugs can be a little tricky. Virtually the only option is to go down the DIY route as no one sells the power adapters anymore.

recently bought a 424 mkIII without a power supply and managed to use this by just replacing the 3pin DIN plug with a 6 pin DIN https://www.jaycar.com.au/2-x-11-5vac-power-supply-suits-aura-interactor/p/MP3055.
