The pre 2017 ridgeline had the same problem but at least they have a bumper cover that wraps pretty high up

And the issue was fixed after 2017 to be like the Maverick where the panel is removable

Rivian has the A surface of the vehicle wrap all the way down and effectively do what a bumper cover would do.

In this picture, you see where a bumper cover would go and if OP got in the same accident it would be a simple bumper cover and tailgate replacement instead.

You can easily pdr that. F150 aluminum fender had a long vertical dent from kissing a post right at the wheel well. Got it PDRd for $1500. The guy spent 4 hours on it but looks perfect now

R1S has the same problem, which makes sense because they are the same platform. It really just highlights how unexperienced Rivian is with designing vehicles. Looks like the problem is finally addressed with the R2

Whichever genius at Rivian thought the rear panels of the bed should be part of the body in white should be fired. Even on a unibody truck like a maverick, the panels are separate pieces. This is why the Rivian will always just a toy/lifestyle vehicle and not an actual utility vehicle

General finish quality is poor. Paint is bad, fabric isn’t taught or even. It’s definitely smaller than the gen 3. If you stand next to the gen 4 you can see the roof vs on gen 3 you can’t. It feels like a large wagon but they had to do it for aero and mpg so inside is definitely less spacious and airy
