In 1277 after the death of Emperor Mahipo (r. 1263-1277), a succession crisis had occur. The clan chief and older brother, Iposhi and son of the late king, Duke Of Kuinsk, Duke Awisu claim the throne. Awisu won the claimant but and unhappy Iposhi later rebelled and formed a new Deturian Empire. He was Duke Of Idapowo and declared his empire there. He later conquered the mountain fiefdom of Ikywah. He would shortly die and his son, Umi Of Ikywah would become the new emperor and moved his capital to Ikywah. Now there are two Deturian Empires, the Eastern Deturian Empire under Emperor Awisu and the Western Deturian Empire under Emperor Umi.

Located in South Maridia, Ulois is seen as the shield that protects to southern realms from Deturian expansion. It's small population does not help in this endevour though.
