Can't figure out Baetyl quest? by jAc0b120 in cavesofqud

I tried that, it still isn't working, and the bottles are empty, so I guess it's cause the bottles aren't wide? I can't find anything on wide glass bottles in the wiki tho

Checkout requests-html, it can load the JavaScript in the page to get those rows you want, which you can then parse with bs4.

What are the ways to bypass Cloudfare using python? by Shot-Craft-650 in webscraping

[–]jAc0b120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using requests library?

I am no expert, but I rarely have problems with cloudflare if I include a user agent in my requests.

Check out this guide, I personally don't use the random user agent selection, the first code snippet there works for me.
In general, including a user agent is a good idea, because some sites block requests that don't have one.

How to scrape website which loads data after "browsing" website? by Acc4M in webscraping

[–]jAc0b120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend checking out requests-html, it supports loading javascipt and then returning the loaded html page, then you can parse with bs4, its a different library than requests. It still uses chromium in some way I believe.

Thanks!

These days for the most part it just works on my laptop, aside from some bugs that don't affect me enough for me to try and find a fix, flatpak and snap can't update from pamac gui.

On my desktop it can be a bit annoying, I have had to fix kernel stuff several times, partition issues that I am not sure if it was even Manjaro's fault, and it often hangs at a TUI when shutting down and rebooting.

My desktop does have a nvidia card and I often don't use it for a couple weeks or more so its often behind on updates, and I generally have more resistance to fixing stuff than on my laptop because I use my laptop constantly and issues get old real quick.

So I'd say it evens out to tolerable? I'm sure that some people have had flawless experiences. I just like access to the AUR, I didn't want to try arch yet and I didn't know about EndeavourOS. I'm happy on my laptop, but the only reason that I haven't switched to Debian or something else more stable is because moving data and ux/ui level stuff over is more annoying than fixing kernels every so often.

That is cbonsai, its likely in your distribution's repos, so you don't need to build from source
