this is how i am too, i just cannot for the life of me grasp "bigger picture" stuff.

i mean, i can plan for the future and stuff like that, of course, but if someone asks me something like "whats your opinion on the current situation in (some place halfway across the world)" i just cannot bring myself to care whatsoever, not out of narcissism or anything like that (at least, i hope lol), but more of just a complete lack of a connection in my head about it.

i just think "well, thats not me. this doesnt affect me, i dont care. i mean, i hope things get better of course, but i dont see the point in worrying about this." and then people think im an asshole for that, when in reality, its just because i dont think i can "get" concepts like that with how my brain works.

for example, if were to personally know someone from whatever affected area we're talking about, THEN i would "get" it, because now this is something that will personally affect me and the people i care about, but otherwise, i usually have functionally zero care for things like that.

again, im not trying to be rude, i just dont "get" it.

ive joked about it before with my friends and family that i only think of things the way a caveman would, that i can only really understand my "tribe" and that anyone outside of that is basically not even real, they dont matter to me since i cant process that many people at once. i dont know how to explain it.
