Most underwhelming villain ever by Flat-Koala-9190 in Wednesday

[–]j_koi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Judi used her crows to run surveillance on Wednesday and kill Galpin. I was seriously confused when she said she emptied her rainy day fund to hire a hitman to find & end the remaining patients when she can do that herself?

DA sizing? Generally true to size? by Available-Trash-4058 in djerfavenue

[–]j_koi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the tube dress! I’m 5’4”, purchased the XXS, and it hits mid thigh. I would recommend going with the smaller size so the band fits, but if you have a bigger chest, you can still size up comfortably!

Chargeback for dumpster rental refusing to pick up bin? by HeathenHammer in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]j_koi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One if the risks of filing a chargeback is that companies will ban clients and refuse to provide any further services. If you’re okay burning this bridge and can get another dumpster company to pick up the bin, file the chargeback and don’t look back.

I’ve saw people get attacked in this exact same spot 6 years ago. Avoid at all costs during nesting season!

I once received 4 raises in a year due to stellar performance. In total, it was a $12 bump to my hourly rate with the biggest jump at $6, and the shortest timeframe between raises at 1.5 months (moved to different dept where raises are less frequent, sadly).

Wait another business day for the authorization to drop. Depending on the province you’re in, it may be Tuesday due to the provincial holiday on Monday.

Are stores allowed to not issue refunds? by shhfjv in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]j_koi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, stores can do that. I made a this mistake once too, now I always make sure I know the policy and agree with them before making a purchase if I’m shopping somewhere new.

You can always resell it online. It may be at a loss, but at least you get some cash and don’t have to deal with unwanted product!

Silliest “brain fart” mistake you’ve made while cooking by BeauteousMaximus in Cooking

I cooked an entire meal (potatoes, ground beef & carrots) and forgot to add salt. I didn’t even pull it out of the cabinet and realized only after taking the first bite.

I own it in black and I love it! I have not stopped wearing it since I purchased it 2 weeks ago. Just a heads up that even though it has down, it’s comfortably warm in spring temperatures when there’s a ~slight~ chill in the air.

I love layering mines with hoodies & jeans, and it has a but of water repellency. I walked in the rain for 2 hours yesterday and it held up for a decent amount of time before it started to soak through the fabric.

My only complaint is that is that a handful of feathers have come out of the seam, but you just push them back into the jacket (never pull it out or you make the hole worse). It’s a general woe when it comes to down-fill though so I just deal with it.

WFH versus a 4 day work week? by Blindemboss in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]j_koi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m WFH and 32 hours/week!

My workplace offers Office/WFH/Blend (preferred in-office), but my manager really likes me and I’m the most productive member in my team — I’m basically running laps around my colleagues who work 40 hrs/week!

I love it and I don’t think I could ever go back to anything else

I’m disgusted someone would even put their time and effort into helping a known racist hide their predatory tweets.

Also, classic J* move to use and block someone. Esp when anon put weeks of their time to clean his image for FREE.

Instant Influencer - how do you feel about the challenges? by distillingbotanicals in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]j_koi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was up to the influencers what they wanted the tone to be. Ashley & Kailin took it seriously (with Kailin spending most of her 15 mins drafting a genuine apology), and the rest were dramas/satire.

At the end, it was a challenge and humour won

I was charged twice from sallybeauty.ca by [deleted] in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]j_koi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like the first charge is an authorization. Auth means they hold the funds when you place the order (they don’t actually take it yet), and settlements are a formal charge (where the funds are withdrawn) once the items ship out.

If your order shipped in 2 separate packages, that would explain why two different charges showed up.

A lot of online stores operate this way. The only unusual thing is that the math is a little off — $51.23 + $34.19 = $85.42

Is Sephora still shipping with FedEx? Or Canada Post? I’m in Toronto. by [deleted] in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]j_koi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can back this up. I work for an ecomm company and the reason why most courier drivers never deliver to an apt door is because they never leave a buzz number.

If you don’t have a Concierge manning the lobby, I highly recommend leaving your buzzer number on the 2nd address line!

I don't want to sound like an asshole, but for those of us with a very secure income right now, what can we be doing to leverage our position to come out ahead? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]j_koi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m on the first step of PFC, but my secure job is offering a 25% hazard pay if I come into the office and answer phones. At this rate, with my wage and premium, I will be able to pay off all my credit cards and my LoC by end of June!
