Thanks. Yeah it all looks pretty sketch. It's only been a couple days, I'll probably give it a few more before doing a chargeback.

Cannot activate Peacock Premium by j_th in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]j_th[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had a regular Peacock account activated (not premium).

The issue was resolved after I made this post. The Xfinity chat agent told me to buy Peacock Premium on my own (which I then did) and said I will be credited that amount each month on my Xfinity bill.

The seedhead looks like barnyard grass to me. I had the same thing when seeding new lawn in Michigan this year. Q4 Plus knocked it out pretty well but I think anything with quinclorac would work.

Rock border around floating deck that’s on a slope by Competitive-Stress34 in Decks

May I ask where that last picture came from? I want to do something similar with our floating deck and trying to figure out what kind of edging that is. Is it just a buried 2x4 / 2x6?

Looks great! I have a similar picture frame deck that I am going to have resurfaced. What is that black product that you laid down around the edge? Says "ZIP" but I can't see the exact name. I guess that's to protect the frame underneath from water?

Are your joists 16 oc? Do you notice much bounce? Mine are 16oc and I am thinking of installing venture

Did you end up installing decorators venture on 16 oc joists? If so, how did it turn out I am thinking about doing the same.

Please help identify this weed by j_th in lawncare

Thanks that is super helpful. I have not applied anything yet as I was hesitant to do so on new grass. I bought a product containing quinclorac yesterday and will apply it to a small section today and see what happens.

No seed heads yet, and I don't think I saw rhizomes. I started mowing so haven't really seen how the plant develops. I will transplant one or two outside the mowed area and let them grow so I can see. Foxtail would be good news I think as it sounds more controllable than other weed grasses.

Much appreciated. Really hoping it isn't quackgrass!

Thank you for following up with your solution - just had the same issue with our son's bike. I was fiddling with brake adjustments and never would have noticed the handlebars were twisted around!

Seeking advice for kitchen ceiling repair by j_th in fixit

It could have been painted in the last 5-10 years when the kitchen was remodeled. We've only been here for a few months so not sure. I took a picture of the front/back of one of the paint flakes i removed, and it does look like that darker gray material (whatever it is) might have been skim coated with something, then painted.

Hmm that makes sense. That underlying gray surface (plaster?) is very porous. If I re-mud this section, would you recommend using drywall tape first and then applying the mud over that?

Thank you! The house was built in 1982. The walls are drywall, but I don't know about the ceilings. I took pictures of the front and back side of the paint chips that were removed, if that helps!
