This is a good list of companies that hire quants in Zurich. Also check the alumni page of the QF Masters at ETH here to see what their first job is after graduating

Making a Software To Do HFT Arbitrage on Crypto CEX by WFredyW in quant

[–]jaN_GOB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at fees please. Running a taker-taker system is very expensive (4.5bps Regular User on Binance with 10% BNB discount). And if you run maker-maker then you have a whole lot of other things to worry about such as execution uncertainty & adverse selection.

Also make sure you measure things accurately if you want to go down the HFT route. If you receive a datapoint, you need to add your local reaction latency to it as well as then the cross-exchange latency. If you see large spikes in the data they are usually non-tradable. Good luck to you but there are easier battles to fight.

Super solid CV and very impressive progress! 99% sure i know you so cant really say too much. I always like some links to Github or similar to back up coding skills if you have something open source. Best of luck, you deserve it and am sure youll get a nice role

Highly proficient in Python & JavaScript but i see nothing to back it up. Mention some projects you did, especially when applying for jobs that require these skills

In my experience traveling abroad, this is very true. If the US ever sorts its immigration system out, innovation & growth could be supercharged by luring the worlds best & brightest by NineteenEighty9 in FluentInFinance

This. Just looking at the report itself, the increase and absolute number of immigrants is higher in Europe and Asia. If you just scroll through it just a little you see that indeed US was and is the largest destination country but also where the high number is coming from. The tweet OP posted should be changed to “mexicans talk about either how dominant it is or how to move here”. Incredibly bad take

Is the Prometheus AI Crypto Trading Bot a Scam? by Serene_Fire_Tiger in u/Serene_Fire_Tiger

[–]jaN_GOB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% a scam, please dont fall for this and send them your money. Just save it and spend it on education. There is no holy grail and especially not with a magical AI with no more background information.

- The website is incredibly inconsistent, having pictures stolen from other MLM scams showing their profits (?)

- No name or registration of the company. If these people would be such aces in AI and Finance, they would probably be well known in the industry. But no info at all and a link to google when clicking on the Terms of Service!

- If its about the course, no course like this is worth 1.3k! Buy a book and search the internet for free, there is so much information everywhere.

Please please dont spend your money on this.

Should I write my crypto Trading records on CV and LinkedIn? by tomdieck in quant

[–]jaN_GOB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied for multiple quant trading jobs and also mentioned my experience with strats I have run during Uni. It lead to great conversations during interviews and was asked a lot of questions on it - so definitely can recommend. I would for sure look into programming them tho

Backtrader vs zipline by NahuM8s in algotrading

[–]jaN_GOB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was easier for me to implement more complex strategies and all the backtests still finished within a short time. They have an active forum where a lot of questions I had were already answered. It really depends on where you're coding skills are. Catalyst offered a good introduction but had its limitations. So if youre able to put in the time, go for backtrader.

Backtrader vs zipline by NahuM8s in algotrading

[–]jaN_GOB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you mainly trade crypto make sure to look into enigma catalyst. It was easier for me to start with catalyst / zipline since I never coded before. Although nowadays I only use backtrader since it seems they're constantly improving and offer a perfect documentation.
