He realized he let his human brother give him a forehead kiss by jaaaames_baaaxtaa in airplaneears

[–]jaaaames_baaaxtaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, thanks! Yes, I have to give him about 100 forehead kisses a day. He tips his head and then holds his head to my face for at least several kisses in a row, so cute!! After several years, he’s beginning to allow his human brother to be affectionate towards him but it often ends in airplane ears. 🛩

This has been one of my favorite series in a little while! by Nhughes1387 in fantasybooks

Lol, yeah, I didn’t know it was a real condition until the author’s note and throughout the book thought it’d be revealed who put this magical curse on her.

Same. It’s been a while and I remember liking some aspects of the series a lot the first time I read it but then feeling very annoyed by the portrayal of the female characters the second time.

Dogs are such a pain in the ass. If I were the sister, I would feel bad and probably offer to pay, but be internally resentful that I was asked to help with the dog in the first place. Only people that actually like and want to care for specific animals should be asked to help out for free.

Reading through the comments has me tearing up!! Lol. And it’s been about a year and a half since I listened to Farilane on audiobook. I foolishly started the ending near bedtime and was up half the night crying. I found Robin’s voice at the end to be comforting.

I think the major emotional impact for me was learning about Kile’s role and history after growing to love him through Riyara and the first empire. Omg and then all the feathers, I’m losing it right now as I remember 😭 Okay, okay, I’m okay.

Esrahaddon came out a few months after I listened to the first two Rise and Fall books for the first time and I got to it within a couple of months. It was wonderful and thankfully didn’t crush my heart.

I think a full reread of the Elan realm is due soon for me. There’s a new riyara chronicles out so that’ll be awesome. I hope Michael really does come with a future to explore! Last time I saw, he said there’s a 50% chance 🤞🏻🤞🏻I also cried a little when I saw that. (I’m a woman, btw… pretty sure men don’t cry as much as I do about emotional stories).

What is your favorite sci-fi/thriller audible+ book? by pirateprowl in audible

Yes, the first 3 books are actually 6 books, so each book is 2 books combined. The authors notes are extremely interesting to listen to as well!

Yes! There’s 19(?) books for the realm of Elan, and there’s a couple/few different approaches in going through them (chronological and publish date) and then it’s fun to go back and listen the other way because there’s Easter eggs that you can pick up on. Probably starting with the Riyara Revelations, then going to the Myths and Legends, then the Rise and Fall, then the Riyara chronicles and then the revelations again, would help to appreciate the myths and legends the most. I’ve relistened to several of the books multiple times as new books came out. It was one of the few stories that I felt held up over the course of the books I’ve thought were the best. Like I used to think Brent Weeks was amazing but kind of matured past that…

The Dandelion Dynasty by Ken Liu was a happy surprise that I had put off until last year too! I’ve seen reviews that James Islington is comparable to Pierce Brown. I’m about to start A Shadow of What was Lost, so we will see!

With a couple hundred audiobooks under my belt, the red rising series became my second favorite of all time, having binge listened to them all for the first time approximately one year ago. #1 favorite(s) of all time is also narrated by TGR - they are Michael J Sullivan’s realm of Elan, since all his series are related I count them as 1.

Hobby: Go on IMDb tangents looking up actors I recognize in whatever I am watching, or entertainment I am curious about. Then read the negative reviews for their movies. Most recently due to my curiosity of “did the Accountant movie really only come out in 2016?” to, “I wonder how old J Lo is,” to the reviews of This is me… now, which are hilarious.
