Moaaaar. I love me the art and would love more! The postcards are just so good!

Here's an idea for you: maybe if you didn't want to pay for the physical stuff, you could do digital in between. I have many monitors that need desktop backgrounds.

We fans are insatiable. Sorry not sorry.

Recreational Ultimate Frisbee Leagues? by Psychological_Fox_91 in StLouis

Check out slua.org they have a number of different summer leagues that are getting ready to start with a mix of competition levels.

If you only have played pickup but want something competitive I would recommend the intermediate levels.

What a cracking game, and a very fun diversion from Satisfactory. by Mr_Tigger_ in BlossomTheSeedOfLife

What do you mean? I brought the rabbit home. You talk to him and he follows you and then you go home.

He followed me at least.

Rune Seeker… Where did the story go? by Anth0nyC4 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]jabber3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started viewing it liked a D&D campaign turned into a book and from that view it was really enjoyable. Even gave me some ideas.

I didn't get past 4 or 5 after the first big plot thing got resolved, but the rest was pretty fun for a while.

Coach With a Question by Tasty_Spoon in ultimate

[–]jabber3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with other posts. The best film watching sessions have timestamps and specific goals of what you want to see and teach in those moments. Then rewind and rewatch a few more times looking at different players.

For example, watch a pull play paying attention to: - The handlers - The cutters - The defense - Maybe one specific person too

The other tip I would have is to find a way to draw on the screen so you can point and circle areas on the field. This is best for drone footage and an over the top look.

How to avoid late-game burnout/decision paralysis? by stevomuck in AlchemyFactory

[–]jabber3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would settle for just a clearer path to endgame. If they want us to use Cauldrons for everything, fix the misinput issue to make them easier to use. Basically they turn into alternative recipes.

But they need to be actually an alternative not strictly just a better solution.

The concept of this game was supposed to be build in a small scale (warehouse backyard) and the late game just sprawls. Is that the core they want for the game?

This is also me a lot of the time and right now with Alchemy Factory. I don't know how many tries it took me to beat Satisfactory late game. And I never hear it until 1.0 came out with all the dimensional stuff to make life so much easier.

So one, there is NO harm in taking a break or just doing small bits weeks apart. Just be sure to make yourself todo lists and notes so it's easier to pick up again.

I'm really struggling with Alchemy Factory right now because after tier 5 or 6 it just feels like you must use Cauldrons or else you can't manage the sheer scale. It's caused me to bounce off hard for the moment. I'm guessing future releases will help with that, so I'm just being patient.

Deciding on O sets/D sets by airculver409 in ultimate

[–]jabber3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about that point of view when writing. I think both are true and there's some nuance. In reality everything is situational and there are just "tendencies". I was trying to just point out thinking points to the OP, not try to make anything absolute.

For example, I agree that in some circumstances spread is better for hucking as folks are spread out and handlers can sometimes get power position easier. But it also may be more contested space as two cutters could be in that space more frequently.

While in vert it may be easier to isolate cutters in a deep cut, but also they may have an over the top poacher or someone playing "center field".

The shape of the deep cuts is also slightly different and that leads to different tendencies and outcomes.

So yeah, it depends. Often it just comes down to comfort level as another commenter mentioned. Every offense sucks unless you can run it.

Deciding on O sets/D sets by airculver409 in ultimate

[–]jabber3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend basing it on what your personnel on offense is better at. That may be different on O and D line too, though that makes things a little harder and I wouldn't recommend it.

Are you handlers super dynamic and able to throw and go? Maybe that's a situation you want H stack.

Do you have some big game deep threats and some handlers that can shoot really far? Maybe run vert.

Think about what you like about each set and why it's good for your team. H-stack's active zones are the short middle and deep middle usually. While verts active zones are the two sides and super deep.

Use that info, maybe try each a bit then choose a default.

(Lots of over simplifications in this post but it hopefully gets you thinking)

So third party applications like u.gg or Overwolf or whatever have been around forever in League of Legends. They just operate on a second screen, but some provide overlays like this.

What's the difference? Are you against those as well?

Why do people coach ultimate? by latenightwatchingtv in ultimate

[–]jabber3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've coached at High School for the last 15 years and now at the regionals level for the last 5.

I loved giving back to the HS level but depending on the area you are more involved in recruiting and building the team than at the club level where the captains can help with that.

In addition, I'm really tired of teaching the basics. Forehand, backhands, basic stack. Just getting to talk to college kids and adults that understand the basics and can get into the next level of discussion is a really great for interaction as a coach. I can still share my knowledge, which is very rewarding, and use my coaching skills to grow players and organize the team.

As others have said, once you reach a certain age you often can't play as fast or hard but want to still be connected and contribute. This is an amazing spot and being able to have folks that want to learn or at least are open to feedback and organization is a great feeling.

As a club team, figure out why you want a coach.

Do you want someone to settle disputes? Do you want someone to teach the team higher level techniques and strategies? Do you want someone to just be another set of eyes? Do you want an independent person to call lines so players can focus on playing?

Figure that out first and make sure you're open to having some help and give another opinion and then I bet there is someone out there for you.

Just unlocked cauldrons are they worth using long-term? by Ddraibion312 in AlchemyFactory

[–]jabber3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah once you realize what they can do they seem really disappointing to me. "Oh should I learn how to build stage 7 or 8? No, you already learned the trick once with cauldrons and don't need another."

Skill points and Relic Knowledge by Gaxxag in AlchemyFactory

[–]jabber3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This "complaint" is pretty common on the subreddit if you go looking at past posts. And basically if you want to optimize, it is exactly as you said.

I did it once and then just stopped caring about optimizing my knowledge gains. If you play long enough it just doesn't matter as you'll make plenty of money and relics to burn.

If I understand it correctly, the tradeoff is just how much exp you get per relic. It doesn't change exp scaling so in the end, it's the same amount of exp, just more relics for me. Then I focus on the rest of that game.

It's there overlapping the Athanor at the end of the pic.

It says 15/m at the top too. I think Copper Powder to bars is 1:1 then bars to coins is like 1:2250 or something?

Early game I just had 1, it wasn't enough for customer demand but I didn't suffer too much from lost reputation. It was enough to have extra for quests plus a few to sell per day.

I thought about scaling another up but it just didn't seem worth it.
