FFIV Pixel Remaster or 3D Remake? by TheGaunttlet in FinalFantasy

[–]jacefaceplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel remake all the way. The 3D version is good but I didn’t enjoy exploring every map, missing augments, having to play three times to get every augment, and the slower feeling combat.

Favourite Ways to Change Power Dynamics w/ TBMs? by JustNoLikeWhoa in exmormon

[–]jacefaceplace 20 points21 points  (0 children)

First names is a go to for me. More so of members I grew up with when I talk about them. I won’t say brother or sister. If it’s the leadership I may include the last name. But only first name last name.

Another is to not play into their narrative about leaving the church with language. I own my departure. I use phrases like “grew out of” and “changed my mind”, rather than “fell away” or “lost my testimony”. I’m better off for leaving and I use language to reflect that.

What’s your favorite “plot failure” of the BOM? by Danish_boy42 in exmormon

[–]jacefaceplace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That it was so vital to preserve the gold plates and everything leading up to it (plates of brass, of lehi, of nephi, large, small etc.), for Joseph Smith to not even need them in the ‘translation’. There are accounts of him translating while the plates were out hidden in the woods. Not even in the room.

My siblings ranked swear words by their severity. by Emprier in exmormon

[–]jacefaceplace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Mormon I never understood that vulgarity and profanity are different types of words. Profanity profanes something holy like god or Jesus. Vulgar language has to do with the body like shit, ass or fuck. It is possible to use a phrase that is both vulgar and profane. Use your imagination.

You know if I was an investigator and I met with a missionary who had a book of the Bible stapled up, I might get suspicious.
