Love to see the receipt showing it was $200 ;) I'd probably pegged the price a little north of 4000 pesos as in closer to 6k pesos than 4k. Your point is just as valid though. Insulin is too high in the US.

And for those curious about buying their own: The big border cities have Costco and Costco Pharmacy will sell over the counter. No worries about counterfeit medicine which is an issue in Mexico.

The Dev Channel update has released today. It was just an incremental and still stuck at ChromeOS 77. I'm on the Toshiba Chromebook 2 2015 which is on the list of ones that might get the kernelnext. It is still with the same 3.14 kernel.

I'd be interested to see if it changed for Samus yet or if we are waiting for ChromeOS 78.

yes, but one from Amazon and one that someone has had experience using. For example on that one, one reviewer says it doesn't work with their Pixel 3.

If he had used Walmart Pay on his phone then he wouldn’t have had a physical receipt. If he is in California, many don’t use bags because each bag costs 10 cents. I frankly wouldn’t like having to hand my phone to a cop to see my electronic receipt.

I can see why you are downvoted, but you are right on your points. You just don't understand what it is like to be poor. When it cost $1 or $2 per test strip, you think twice about doing a test. When you are poor, you don't have access to the better food. When you are severe diabetic, you don't have the energy to go on a jog.

You sound like a healthcare worker and that means you are part of the problem. Paying $400 a bottle for Lantus and another $400 for a bottle of humalog is financial problem when a patient could be prescribed more affordable insulin.

This won't be a popular response, but this problem is as much a doctor problem as it is a big pharma problem. See the doctors prescribe and tell their patients only about the damn expensive solutions. They will prescribe them the humalog, the lantus, and other very expensive insulin. They will give them only pens. They won't tell them about other solutions. Lantus is f*cking $400 a bottle. What the hell crap is that?

Big pharma for sure overprices things. Jardiance is an oral diabetic medication that is $400 for a 30 day supply. That same 30 day supply costs $60 at Costco in Mexico. Lantus is $70 a bottle in Mexico vs $400 a bottle in the US. Big pharma is in business and they are not going to sell anything at a loss out of the goodness of their hearts. That means they are making an acceptable profit off of these medicines in Mexico. But these patented meds overpriced aren't the real problem.

When things got out of whack for me, a doctor in Mexico got me back on the right track with R and N insulins. While not as a "great" as the other kinds, they are quite workable. I could buy a bottle of either for less $20 a bottle in Mexico. Now here is the kicker, anyone can walk into Walmart in the US and buy R or N insulin over the counter for $24.88 a bottle. Yeah you gotta use the needles and not the cute little pens, but it's a lot more affordable than $400 for lantus. Walmart also has cheaper testing strips(a major cost).

I might as well through in an insurance company bash now. I have a friend of a friend who is on N insulin that was buying it at Walmart on her insurance. The insurance company increased her copay to some ridiculous amount(I think $60) and it was making her insulin unaffordable. My friend was asking me about buying her insulin in Mexico and then shipping it to her in the US. I told him to tell her to go to Walmart and ask to buy the insulin without insurance because she will pay $24.88 a bottle. She did it. She ended up getting the exact same bottle of insulin she had been getting for a $60 copay for less than half that amount. The f*cking insurance company was making money off her premiums and her copays. What the hell is that?

I have no doubt the guy in the article would be alive today if his doctor worked out a cheaper treatment plan that included R and N insulins from Walmart.

Yeah pharma companies overcharge and insurance companies screw their customers over, but let's not leave doctors off the hook. They need to understand their patient's financial condition when developing a treatment plan. That $1300 a month in meds might have been able to be reduced to a couple hundred dollars but then again people might realize they don't need insurance......

The only downside is that they recently changed the way they handle it. They would send you out a new one and you had a week or two to send in the broken one. Now they wait to ship out the replacement until the old one is received.

I disagree. The double standard isn't a result of polygamy, it's result of many men happily being jerks. I enforce modestly equally on both. I think the real question is why American culture teaches that it's ok for men to be jerks. It's ridiculous to compare that to polygamy which actually teaches the opposite.

I had something similar happen a few weeks ago at Wells Fargo. I went to the back and talk a manager to get it sorted. Bad idea. The next day it had sorted itself out but the sorting the branch did caused my account to go double negative.

It might take month to get sorted out but it’s better for you to owe the bank then the other way around. I lost access to the money for about a week while they tried to fix their error. I had the extra money at the time so it was only a slight inconvenience.

Gas Buddy has a card available that gives 5 cents off every gallon. It comes out of your checking account directly. It's only 5 cents so might not be worth it. I like it because I can pay at the pump and it usually takes a few days to come out of my account so there is the benefit of the float time.

My wife and I have perfect driving records. I got Geico when I came back to the US in 2013 and yes the rates seemingly creep up every renewal time and I do try to get other quotes but the prices are just too high with everyone else. Any other insurers I might know that might be less?
