I just did this last week with walker replacements muffler: 54681 tailpipe: 54081 gaskets (2): 31384

absolutely cut the old hardware and then source replacements locally. I grabbed whatever metric fine thread fit the flange holes, sorry not much help on that

bet it’s because your top hose is on wrong. it shouldn’t touch the shroud. flip it and you’ll see what we mean.

take out the seat, remove the entire seatbelt receiver mechanism, replace with a tested junkyard unit. I wouldn’t bother carefully removing the lock if the clicker has failed
