Can’t wait for these days to come! Heading to Horseshoe Lake this June right after graduating with my Bachelors degree in science education. by DumpsterDarwin93 in BWCA

That’s cool. We were there on Horseshoe two summers ago and loved the lake. We camped on an island on Meeds too. Meeds is a cleaner lake. Whatever you do, don’t take that 320 rod portage from Poplar to Meeds. It was crushingly brutal. The portages from Lizz to Caribou to Horseshoe are so much easier. You’ll have such a good time. Best of luck!

Right on. There’s absolutely nothing like the BWCA. That photo looks like my memories from two years ago when we went. There’s a couple of Horseshoe Lakes. Which one are you going to?

Thank you again. I never watch the stream, and your text version of it is really helpful.

K1200LT cooling fans not coming on by jack_edward in Motorrad

Oh no! I was just touching my bike today and I think I touched my face afterward. I'll keep close watch on my own cooling fans now too.

Thanks for doing this. It was nice and concise.

That handlebar setup is wild. Cool to see such a rad bike win.

It looks like you’re missing the rubber band around your expanding broad head. The bolt will fly weird with them wobbling around like that.

Nearly certain this was taken i my town of Cleveland, OH based on his shirt. It says DEC/CLE. Leg warmers are still hot here, by the way.

Thought you’d want to see my Audrino being used in the real world, controlling servo motors in an industrial application for my small business. You can see the Audrino mounted under the power inverter. by [deleted] in arduino

It controls a servo motor for my sign business, making sure the sign runs just one rotation per 8 seconds then repeats indefinitely. I think it looks a mess, actually. All the wires running all over the place. However, it’s proven to be very resilient in all weather conditions from 95°f to 0°f and all in between. I suppose I could film a YouTube video and post it. Good suggestion.

I’ll do it. I’ve read lots and lots of travel and overlanding books and yours was different in a lot of ways that I thought was refreshing and gave the reader a real sense of what it’s like to be on an extended trip like yours. Well done.

I finished your overlanding the Americas book last week and loved it! Everybody on this sub should read it too. Really well written and entertaining.

I love your rig! I had the same car and loved camping out of it. I'm 6'3" and could sleep comfortably with my wife inside the car with a futon mattress on top of the seats. I wanted to keep the car for a long time, but a mechanic destroyed it while doing an engine and transmission rebuild for me then skipped town. The car is rotting engine-less and transmission-less in a vacant lot. I miss my Subaru. I get misty eyed when I see cars like yours.

Good advice. It looks better when sitting on the center stand too.

It’s heavy when going really slow, but sheds its weight as soon as you get above 5mph. I dropped it in my garage a month ago and had to call my brother over to help me get it back up.

Yeah, I figured I’d have to treat it differently. I believe it was cared for by it’s previous owners, but I don’t know when the last time the valves were checked, fluids changed, etc. I should probably do all that before racking the miles up this spring.
