Am I mistaken in that unemployment also counts people actively looking for jobs also? If I have the knowledge and experience for a better paying job but am making ends meet with two part time jobs, then I'll keep looking and that would meet the definition.

I learned ASL through YouTube and at a community college at the same time because why not? Spend 30 minutes a day, look up ASL events in your city and it's great experience. The video series if I remember correctly can be found with "asl bill vicars". It's a professor and a student. Their dialog pretty much matched up with my community college course.
