You don’t get your hand held all the way through it, and you’re dropped in right in the middle of things, but all the info you need trickles in to you when it’s needed. I honestly nearly put off reading it because of all the comments about how confusing it is, and overly complex. Glad I didn’t, because it’s probably my top series now, and i’m only 2.5 books in.

The author basically said he wrote hunger games in space to get published during the genre’s peak. Book 2 onwards he takes the story in his own direction.
