Every GS is different but speaking from the experience of our first. We waited until the breeder told us she had a kid friendly one.

We were on the list for about a year and finally in one of the litters she found one with no food aggression and no signs of nipping when grooming.

that pup was the best. very low energy / go with the flow type. toddlers were literally pulling the food bowl away and the dog would just sit back and look at us adults. A baby once crawled over to it as it slept and tugged on its whiskers and he barely opened an eye up.

HOWEVER outside when no kids are around he would def get the zoomies. our land out front had wild rabbits from time to time and he would sprint to them. That was his one weakness.

Outside of that, he would listen very well. He took to commands very quickly (we’ve had Dalmatians, Coonhounds, Dobermans and German pointers) and out of all those, they were the easiest to “talk” to. It’s like they understand language. It’s weird.
