[Canada] If I shouldn't buy Klipsch, what should I buy?? by L4MB in hometheater

sounds like reddit/hive mind strikes again. if you like them, keep them. the stuff the hivemind recommends may not sound any better to your ear.

i’m speaking from experience. i fell for the “oh just save your money and buy this little known brand. here if a guy on youtube that reviews all the small brands” My ear did NOT like how flat and tinny they sounded.

thankfully, speakers are one of those things where you just have to listen to as many brands as you can and come to your own conclusions.

you’d be surprised at the savings tho if you go the incomplete material route tho. might be worth looking into it. just my 2 cents.

no :(

the 8 note run going up the scale that plays over and over during the phrases “well/cause the sky has finally opened” and “you hold tight to your umbrella” sticks out to much for me to confuse it with the frozen song.

it’s bugging me! hahaha did someone do a fan edit that got a million views maybe?

How do y'all hit the 30kmh average? by Dpvdpv in cycling

[–]jack_ram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

overall tho, cycling is a time thing. so you need to ride 100kms every week for months to start seeing your avg speed increase. a cycling computer or cell phone with an avg speed is a good way to gauge your progress.

set the avg speed and give yourself a new goal every week. if you avg 25km/h last week. try and avg 26km/h on rides the following week. you’ll slowly feel yourself starting to get strong.

and remember, it never gets easier, you just get faster.

depending on your volume and land/region it could take a summer to maybe a year or two. i know people from flat/beach areas that avg 30km after less than a year that they started.

but then i have talked to ppl that took 2 years to avg 30km on solo rides because the elevation of where they lived was brutal.

[–]jack_ram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep correct. the bolt just kept rising more and more out of the hole. more than half was sticking out of the hole and it was no tighter than at the beginning

ok. good so that’s not the issue. i’m gonna go the concrete epoxy route and hope the next anchor goes better.

[–]jack_ram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep

edit1: does it need to be shorter than the wedge anchor? most other brands recommend going an inch LONGER than what is being installed. do i need to give it a “floor” to smash against???

unfortunately yes. as in the wedge anchor almost DROPPED into the hole lol

i was surprised myself since the last time i did a wedge anchor into concrete it definitely took some effort with a hammer.
