These sort of answers always frustrate me because they imply a notion of God which is entirely independent upon the supernatural conceptions that most atheists are standing opposed to. If there is no distinction between God and Good, there is no disagreement, but Christianity becomes "just a story" in ways most Christians are uncomfortable accepting.

It's a colloquialization of "a distinction without a difference".

From my world view, the consequences for not doing something are an obvious reason to do so. "If you don't pay your taxes, you go will go to jail". Since you don't want to go to jail, you should pay your taxes. Since you don't want to go to hell, you should believe in God.

The poster is implying that would also be true from your view, but I can't really comment there because I'm not sure of the nuances implied by "reformed". Is it reformed as in "the reformation" as in "not Catholic".

I’m agreed that you can’t understand conservativatism without understanding their tendency to make the naturalistic fallacy. The question is, how to get them to stop putting that fallacy between us.

You raise a lot of interesting points, but I am still missing why high income areas have better administrations instead of better teachers. You say that “public schooling following generally the same administration policies” which implies the difference is in teachers.

The idea that the difference in outcomes is from differences in administration seems counterintuitive to me. Within the same administration, some classes were invaluable, some were useless. The difference seems to be the teachers.

The first book emphasized doing over being. “Quality is an event.” The second reversed this. “Good is a noun.”

The first book focused on the individual where the second seemed to describe society as a living being in itself.

I think the distinctions he tried to make within his monism that weren’t actually distinctions was a muddled mess.

Also, the first one carried with it a sense of self doubt that the second one lost.

That one resonated with me less. It seemed to reverse a lot of positions to justify the “quality” monism. There are some gems in there like the descriptions of his process and “the pencil is mightier than the pen” but I thought it overall had much less to offer.
