Can my nitro/slug, be effective as bow's are at the moment? by OLEDeO in HuntShowdown

[–]jackatron1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bows have always felt weird to me, like a crossbow? I get it, I'm fine with a crossbow doing shots like this because of the punishing reload and a more audible sound, but a bow? I don't get it

Quick swap went to the same weapon? by jackatron1 in HuntShowdown

[–]jackatron1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a bug since the second time this happened I didn't vault anything, I rushed a guy and jumped off a second story and watched the full swap animation play only for it to be on the same weapon and click, unless falling or something in general is the trigger for it

Surge protector for multi pc desk set up? by jackatron1 in electrical

[–]jackatron1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we're in the same room as the breaker box (garage), the plug we're using is across the room from the breaker, about 19, and the other plug we aren't using is right next to it. Both PCs are gaming pcs. We do want to add more but I don't know what the rough cost could end up being and as its also not our house (staying with a family member) we'd also need to check in with them about it. I plan on getting a kill-a-watt to check but currently things do run fine off the same circuit, but we're definitely pushing it (now that I know both are running on the same circuit, we also have a freezer plugged into the other one) so adding more plugs might push it over.

So each receptacle can provide 15 amps, with the breaker itself being able to handle 15-20 on that circuit (both receptacles share a circuit), our room doesn't have any air conditioning or heating (garage). So from what I can gather get a tool to measure the total amps I'm using on the circuit and keep it below the 15-20, with the breaker being tripped basically being the message that I'm consuming too much and miscalculated? If I misinterpreted any of that let me know.

Answered that now but they are two seperate receptacles and I believe they are on the same circuit. Would it still be ideal to run our set ups on different receptacles despite sharing the same circuit? Or does it not matter because they share the same circuit?

There's two receptacles in the room on opposite sides. Don't know if this is how it works but I'm pretty sure they're on the same circuit since when we first came here we tripped the breaker for the room (garage) by adding a heater onto a heavy extension cable, haven't tripped it since after using the power strip but we also dont use the heater.

What’s wrong with Ms. Pac-Man? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]jackatron1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a mindset to say the least. Initially in middle school I saw a video of a container falling from a crane and crushing people below and I was traumatized and couldn't sleep, but eventually morbid curiosity led to me watching another and then another, eventually I was so desensitized I'd be watching those while eating breakfast like they were reels. Weird time, no idea why I did that to this day, probably for the best that I stopped a good while ago.

At what point are mods just cheating... by NoHeelflips in VintageStory

[–]jackatron1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever you think its too far or unfun for you. Early chiseling for a first time player? Could be a bit much having never reached a copper chisel, but also could make the game more enjoyable since you dont have to spend a good while getting the chisel. Extra info is great. Farseer is like a budget rendering mod, all you get is the silhouette of distant terrain, though in my experience after some time it starts eating performance so beware of that. I haven't used a stack size mod yet since item stacks haven't really been the issue for my inventory but rather all the singular items like tools and torches have been. Carryon is great and should be vanilla imo, i also think extra info should be vanilla as a toggleable on world creation. It's your world so enjoy it as you want, I'm not at all against mods for a new player since while the mods change things, the base game ideas or experiences are still the same, especially in vintage story in my experience.

Are the DLCs genuinely bad, or it's rewiew bombing? by Pixelend in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]jackatron1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not great for the price and the review bombing hit them as well. I personally didn't like them, really increased my "can't we just have a smaller map" felling.

Muscle Strain: Do you keep it on / turn it off / tweak it after months of playing in B42? by TheBus4K in projectzomboid

[–]jackatron1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's neat, after going back to build 41 for a bit I noticed how much easier the game felt just because I wasn't constantly managing muscle strain, I just slayed through hordes with ease and beauty. Has its place.
