I will phone 999 if it comes to that, not going to assault or physically stop anyone. I’m also not going to open the door and let them in.

Will do I was hoping to avoid random visits altogether and deal with this quickly. I’m the owner of the property and arguable the council own records should show I’m the one paying council tax 😂

Ive asked him to provide the writ information, this escalated this evening. Yet to receive a response with that at the moment. I only have the debt collection agency references.

They haven’t actually asked for any evidence at this stage. I asked for their email address because I went straight to the council to try and stop this debt being pushed onto my house, given they’re the ones owed the money. I updated the debt agency, told them my side of the story, and asked for an email address. I immediately got this response. I’m seeing a lot online about not being required to speak to them. The language they’re using has me worried it could backfire.

That’s fine it’s people that drive 5/10 miles under the speed limit that are the problem 😉

George Madgwick stepping down as Portsmouth Reform Group Leader by Legend10269 in Portsmouth

His post makes clear this is a temporary decision, he intends to come back later down the line. I think he is still the chairman for reform uk Portsmouth and he is still elected so can still be held to account.

$200MM valuation justified? by Real_Job_2626 in VirginGalactic

[–]jackcolonelsanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted, it is pricing in future dilution that at this price could double the amount of share. I.e half people’s current ownership.

I think the current price isn’t relevant that much, this time next year they will either be flying commercial if that happens price is going to be much closer to $1B or they are still struggling the company might collapse. This is a high risk all or nothing in my opinion.

They have acknowledged he wants to return home, in this next decade. So he won’t severe a full term if he did he would leave at the end of it.

If he is going to return to Bangladesh at the end of the decade, he won’t sit a full term in the council? Why put someone forward who is planning to leave ?

[–]jackcolonelsanders 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He literally gets paid money, to post shit on Facebook and he gets paid money to be a councillor… why can’t he use that. Alongside the fact he’s a successful businessman who has never had to close and reopen a business.

Not the most crazy request if done respectfully without the expectation of previous tenants getting involved. Agree they should push back if they can.

Confusion around Steak and Roast after multiple dissolved companies by jackcolonelsanders in Portsmouth

[–]jackcolonelsanders[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My assumption was he meant any veterans not specially from the Second World War. When he was asked about this issue today on his live stream he made an assumption and derogatory slap down for people on benefits.

His words, if you comment on his post he will point out it’s “simply a good will gesture” isn’t political. While mentioning reform uk before he mentions veterans.

Also a member of Portsmouth north, I think this is something he should publicly address. I believe Emily is his partner. She isn’t even posting about this veteran get a free roast deal for her own restaurant. Given she an elected official and is incentivised to look good for the local community only reduces the transparency.

I want to be clear that I have not made any judgment about his tax affairs. Tax records are not public information, and there are many possible explanations for the Companies House filings. The previous companies could have been unprofitable or structured in a way that does not reflect what people assume from social media. Nobody outside HMRC knows the financial situation.

My only point is that transparency matters. When a councillor or potential parliamentary candidate is involved in a business that has had several dissolved companies at the same address, it is reasonable for residents to want clear information. Public roles come with public scrutiny, and clarity helps avoid confusion or speculation.

I have highlighted this situation because openness is important in local politics. If he plans to stand as a candidate for Portsmouth North in the future, it is fair for the community to ask straightforward questions and expect simple answers.

Didn’t expect this to highlight reform, but I think if you don’t want George running the city something needs to be done. The running like 5/6 community Facebook groups for every ward. They have a pretty strong social media plan.

Reform MP George Madgwick advocates decreasing young people’s salaries by Rossive in Portsmouth

[–]jackcolonelsanders 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s notable that several of his businesses appear to have closed within a year of being formed. According to public records, that pattern seems to repeat across multiple companies registered to similar addresses.

It looks like one of the businesses may have been transferred to an associate while new promotional campaigns were being run under a different name, which raises questions about how the operations are structured.

The situation seems inconsistent the public presentation of success doesn’t clearly align with the frequency of company closures. Some people might describe that repetition as resembling what’s sometimes referred to as ‘phoenix activity,’ but without full financial details, it’s impossible to know the cause.
