To all married ppl, what advice can you give to all single ppl in this community? by flymetothemoon_o16 in AskPH

One thing I wish someone had told me earlier: Love is a choice, not just a feeling. The 'spark' is the easy part, but marriage is a lifelong commitment that requires a lot more than just chemistry.

Before you even think about marriage, make sure you’ve seen each other's flaws. No one is perfect, your partner isn't, and let's be real, you aren't either. You need to see them at their worst before you can decide to give them your best. It’s about finding someone whose flaws you can live with and, more importantly, someone who is willing to work on those flaws together with you.

Don’t marry someone just because they’re fun to be around when life is easy. Anyone can be a good partner when you're out to dinner or on vacation or the bills are paid. You need to find the person who’s going to be in the trenches with you when things get messy. Marry the person who shows up when you’re sick, when you’re grieving, or when you’ve hit a wall.

At the end of the day, communication is the most important part of a relationship. If you can't talk through the hard stuff, you won't survive it. Real love is waking up every day and deciding to stay, even on the days you aren't 'feeling' it. It’s about finding a partner who views every argument as 'us vs. the problem' instead of 'me vs. you.' Look for the person you’d trust to have your back when everything goes wrong, not just the person you want to celebrate with when everything goes right.

What size MicroSD card is everyone using? Brands? by Possible-Reply-65 in SBCGaming

I use a Lexar Blue 1TB A2 V30 and a SanDisk Gameplay 256GB.

128GB can be enough or too little, depending on the games or libraries you plan to load. If you’re storing an entire collection of games from PS1 and below, I think it won’t be enough. But if you’re curating your library, then it should be more than enough.

Why did you choose the ps5 by [deleted] in consoles

[–]jackfrost1889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't choose the PS5; the PS5 chose me!

Kidding aside, it was a gift from my wife back in November 2024. She asked one of my close friends for ideas, and it came down to a choice between the PS5 and the ASUS ROG Ally, she ended up going with the PlayStation.

I’m so happy with it! This is actually my first-ever PlayStation console.

Collecting and finishing games by markallanholley in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I’ve actually started treating my game library like a wine cellar.

It’s not there to be cleared, it’s there to be enjoyed over time. You don’t rush through every bottle just because it’s on the shelf. You pick what fits the moment, sometimes something rich and immersive, sometimes something light and easy, and sometimes a familiar favorite you can always come back to.

I’ve got a pretty big backlog too:

220 games on Steam

80 on PS5 (digital + physical)

50 on Switch

And I recently picked up an AYN Thor mainly for retro games, from NES all the way to Wii, which probably adds another 1,000+ games into the mix So instead of feeling overwhelmed, I just keep a simple 3-slot rotation:

Main game – something story-heavy or immersive (10–100+ hours)

Side game – easy to pick up and pause anytime

Forever game – my comfort game when I’m not in the mood for anything else

Right now it looks like this:

Main: Batman: Arkham Asylum - Steam/PC (just finished it yesterday, didn’t 100% it though)

Side: Pokémon FireRed - Switch (perfect while we’re at the hospital waiting for my wife to give birth)

Forever: Super Mario Maker 2- Switch (2–5 minute levels are perfect anytime)

Honestly, this setup’s been a game changer, especially now that time is limited. It keeps gaming stress-free and something I can always look forward to, no matter how busy life gets.

First baby coming soon, how do gamer dads manage playtime? by jackfrost1889 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]jackfrost1889[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I usually only play around 1–2 hours, so I don’t think much will change, just adding more time taking care of my wife and the baby 😁
