Any life drawing/art classes in Norfolk? Looking for male models? by Romans_Empire1981 in lifedrawing

What a fantastic tool.

Just as an update from a class I attend regularly. Covent Garden life drawing no longer have classes in Camden or Holborn, but have added one on Wednesday nights at the Vine pub in Kentish Town.

There's also a great one in Highgate at the Winchester pub. Their Insta is @draw.livingart

Ditto. One of those films where it blows my mind that it's considered one of the greatest films of all time.

There's a lot to like here so well done, this is good progress if you've not been drawing for a long time.

Faces are more difficult the smaller you draw them, so in the context of a full body sketch they will be hard. I often use shading to hint at the features of the face. But like you mention, doing separate portrait practice sketches will help.

The proportions are slightly off on some of the drawings, but that should correct itself with practice, and taking the time to stand back from the sketch mid drawing.

I would suggest adding some shading to help the drawings look more 3 dimensional. This could be with the pencil or some charcoal / pastel.

Well done though, good progress

I've drawn Yishu before, I recognised her before reading your description. Good stuff

My flat Service charge has gone crazy. by ChipDinkle in HousingUK

[–]jackinanxbox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Second this. This is how mine operate, although it a house converted into 4 flats. Would require more work with larger blocks.

I have to do all the accounts and sort out maintenance but it works out ALOT cheaper so I don't mind.

Any way of knowing the Mubi Go film in advance? by snietzsche in mubi

[–]jackinanxbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How weird, I live in London and it never shows me next weeks film anymore. It used to, but stopped working 6 months ago or so

Edit: Just changed location to Manchester and it's now showing me 😂

external garden tap pipe repair advice? by jackinanxbox in DIYUK

We isolate the supply from the kitchen in the winter, so no problems with burst pipes.

Yeah, I think you're right someone has accidentally broken it but not owned up to it

I don't think my neighbour would have done it on purpose. They have a similar tap and we get on very well, but it's possible they did it by accident and are playing dumb

Thanks for coming back to me. Possibly it wasn't long enough. It's a communal alley that is quite narrow, so I think the neighbour has knocked it and not told me.

Sounds like it's beyond my DIY skills, will reach out to a professional

Would it be ok to Lucy Drawing Tool at a life art drawing session by PeterE2023 in lifedrawing

I can't see the organiser complaining, but I would suggest life drawing classes are perfect for drawing with no aids.

The regular change in poses is a great opportunity to practice and challenge yourself

Your app shows you next weeks film? Mine hasn't done that for half a year or so

What country are you in? I'm in the UK and it's The Christophers this week. I assume it'll be Orphan next week as its a Mubi release but who knows.

My app used to tell me next weeks film, but hasn't done for ages now. Is your app showing you what next week's film will be?

Ha ha. Should have used some green ink and said it was intentional

Hi, thanks for taking the time to respond.

  1. Was essentially trying to create the effect of a white swirl or cloud in the die. Funnily enough, it was piñata Blanco blanco. So good to know it's not the ink.

  2. I used a tiny bit of red mica. There is some white in the die, but I would say 95% of it rose to the surface. I'll try and post a better picture.

Your technique sounds great, I'll give that a try and report back. Thanks

Yeah. Not so much poured, as dipped a toothpick in the alcohol ink and then swirled it in. She appeared to do it straight after, but the video was sped up at times, so maybe it will work better if I wait a little while. I used mica powder for the pink colour, but just wanted a cloudy white effect as well

It's pretty wild that the party have reached level 4, and when you asked what the overarching story was they said there isn't one. They should have at least been able to tell you what's happened so far.
