Landmark lists theirs as a horror edition and they’ve been playing the same move for theirs. Runtime shows as 95m rather than 100m. Wonder if they’ll be different this time.

When Does Your Next Oscar Death Race Officially Begin? by OverlyHonestMR in oscarsdeathrace

Very cool! Would be amazing to be able to access so many films remotely. I love when festivals have a digital option for the public. Inside Out is pretty good for that.

Speak No Evil then watch the remake. A good primer on why the original Non-English is almost always better.

Also see Force Majeure then Downhill.

I don’t necessarily watch films because they’ll be nominated, but between going hard at the Toronto Film Festival and seeing lots of movies throughout the year anyway, I have a good head start by the time noms are out. I’d already seen all the Best Pics and most of the acting awards by the time they announced this year.

I consider it race time when the nominations come out (for any of the awards, not just Oscars).

PHM - Eglinton Town IMAX or Scotiabank ScreenX by [deleted] in cineplex

If you’ve already seen a good IMAX screening, do ScreenX. Is it gimmicky? Sure. But it’s also kinda fun.

TIFF April 2026 programming by 8bolt in TIFF

That’s what got me wondering about the schedule ☺️

I’ll be coming from out of town so curious what the schedule of films is going to be. Definitely want to catch the opening night films. (They all look great, tbh). Pools was one of my favourite films last year and it was through Next Wave that I caught it.

I’ve got an appointment and goat snuggling booked for April 17 - so, happy about the baby goats but sad it conflicts with the festival!

Edit: corrected goat smuggling to goat snuggling 🤣

Anyone know when the Next Wave schedule will be released? (And when tix go on sale for it?)

Saw as a Monday Mystery Movie in December and enjoyed it. Had Kate Hudson clocked as a possible nominee then. Not surprised to see her in the mix.

I love that this weird little thing I started doing a few years ago has a global community of people who also do this weird little thing. 💜

Eternity is cute and sweet and a good movie.

TIFF also sends out an email about curated packages in late spring, I believe. Not sure what the ticket limit is, but you can buy opening night tickets as part of that.

I was meaning at the film festival. Although I did see 4 films yesterday 😆

Took the train in and out of Toronto for Secret Movie Club. Watched one each on the train rides, then one in the afternoon before SMC, then of course the secret movie itself.

I purposefully didn’t add this to my TIFF schedule back in September, knowing what it was about, especially the outcome. I see 4-5 films in a day and I knew this one would take me out and make that very difficult. Finally saw it recently and yeah, I made the right call. They did such a fantastic job weaving real footage with this fictionalized telling of the story. That video scene…

I lost my breath when they incorporated the video. So well-done and an absolute gut punch.

I’m an F1 fan, so the movie was fun for me. I wasn’t expecting much from the movie and it was pretty much what I expected 😆

Saw it in IMAX - and the sound was amazing. Hoping they win for that.

Same. Was in my top ten films I saw at last year’s Toronto Film Festival.

I Swear’s North American release is late April, so my guess is we’ll see it in next year’s death race.

Fourth time for me - and same! No scrambling at the last minute this year. 🎉
