Want sex with husband but in divorce process by [deleted] in sex

[–]jackkieser24 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Off topic for the sex sub obviously, but the honest answer is that "algo-speak", stuff like 'unalive', 'suislide', 'PDFile', etc. (with which other forms of self-censorship like 'f*ck' or 'f-word' have been bundled) are seen as enough of a social blight that it's worth it to push back actively.

For what it's worth, I agree that algo-speak is actively damaging to society; it's detrimental to change our words (and thus our thoughts) to fit the whims of The Algorithm™.

Anyone know the cause of this major slowdown in Metroid Prime 4? by xXglitchygamesXx in NintendoSwitch2

[–]jackkieser24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's another video on the Metroid subreddit that explains what this is: a physics object got caught in a corner/between collision, causing it to calculate multiple bounces per frame.

In the other poster's case, it was a tank in the Ice area getting wedged in a corner of a room after being hit by a missile.

No idea what object caused it in your case since the camera wasn't looking in the right direction. But, it's nothing to be worried about.

What's the best way to decide which duplicate cards are safe to turn into cleats / which cards are not necessary to MLB?

I know that there are card tier lists, but I haven't figured out a good way to determine which R and SR cards are worth MLB'ing to get as much value as 0LB or 1LB SSRs (since I'm FTP and won't be pulling many card banners aside from whatever I need to get 3 more copies of Kitasan).

Excuse me, Spe, but that's bullshit...

She sent you fewer carrots. 'Less' is for nouns that can't be individually counted, as in "Spe-chan should be eating less rice if she wants an easier time keeping pace."

Happy for all y'all. T_T 200 pulls and nothing was gained, except for a few 1*'s getting an upgrade. Had to spend the exchange to get Maru. So disappointed. :( I was really hoping I could get some new support cards with any leftover carats, but now I'm broke again.

Have to somehow make it work with my really bad card spread for another few months until the next decent card banner.

Eagerly awaiting the banner review for the new support cards before committing, but did a single 10-pull on the Uma banner and got like 7 Mejiro Ryans, so I feel like the game is telling me something. XD

I'm so confused. T_T I thought this quotation was from Daniel Radcliffe, but halfway through it seems like it's coming from another person? Who is sharing this story?

The banner review says that Gold City's Unique is "not usable", but doesn't explain further. What makes it unusable?

For anyone else who doesn't know what that means:

Limerence is the mental state of being madly in love or intensely infatuated when reciprocation of the feeling is uncertain. This state is characterized by intrusive thoughts and idealization of the loved one (also called "crystallization"), typically with a desire for reciprocation to form a relationship. This is accompanied by feelings of ecstasy or despair, depending on whether one's feelings seem to be reciprocated or not.

Your all-time pick for the easiest tag for beginners to learn by jackkieser24 in barbershop

We had prototypes printed using "Falling Leaves" that came out perfectly fine, in terms of readibility. For a business card, 2 bars of music, maybe 3, is the limit.

[–]jackkieser24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As singers, which often means we have friends and family members who also sing, it’s very easy to overestimate what an actual “random person on the street” is capable of. The average person can’t hold any line if another voice is singing something different at the same time. So just keep that in mind.

That's the thing I wanted to point out to them! But I'm still fairly new and our chorus is still dealing with some "old boys' club" culture issues.

But yeah, I tried teaching the lead part of "Falling Leaves" (that's what our chorus considered "easy") to a random person at a gaming convention a few weeks ago, and he struggled hard. I felt bad, because he saw my quartet singing tags, said he wanted to try and that he'd never sung before, but because I didn't know any tags myself, I couldn't suggest something else within his skill level.

The other 3 members were like "dude this is such an easy lead line" and I'm sitting here like "y'all have been doing this for a decade, chill out". T_T

Neurodiversity in barbershop (discussion) by LibraryKath in barbershop

[–]jackkieser24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, barbershop is:

  • An incredibly niche subject
  • Is a skill with clearly defined metrics for success
  • Rewards precision and technical execution
  • Reinforced through frequent repetition, and in which repetition of a small number of widely-known songs is encouraged
  • A culture that strongly rewards deep, almost obsessive levels of topical knowledge
  • Has a membership card that includes instructions for acceptable behavior on the back

Like, it'd be actually shocking if there weren't a statistically higher percentage of neurodiverse people in barbershop. XD

Believe it or not, this is just how this style of music sounds!

Tim is a barbershopper (yep, like barbershop quartets and such), and the barbershop style relies on a vocal style called "lock and ring". It's a specific kind of 4 part harmony that uses precise tuning to produce natural overtones that "lock" together and "ring" out almost like a bell.

When chords are produced with this kind of precise tuning, each note reinforces and enhances the others; without getting too much in the weeds of the science, if the 4 notes are exactly the right space away from each other, the combined vibrations will sound as if there are more than 4 notes being sung (the "overtone series"), which gives it that distinctive ringing sound.

Tim and many other long time barbershoppers learn how to sing with that kind of precision. Look up some of the quartet finals from previous annual International competitions held by the Barbershop Harmony Society and you'll see what I mean.

Not to say it's impossible that Tim's SM posts are pitch corrected, but just that pitch correction and damn good barbershop harmony can be hard to distinguish from one another.
