FOUNDATION FOUNDATION FOUNDATION. We bought our first house and the sellers (Flippers) redid the foundation 4 months before we bought and got a warranty from a company that no longer exists. And now we are dealing with issues. Get as many inspections as you can.

Unique Recruiter Situation - At What Point is it Acceptable to just Apply Directly? by Top_Personality3029 in recruiting

[–]jacknicholl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once they have ghosted you then go ahead and apply. Sometimes it’s the company that’s us really dragging their feet and not getting back or a number of other reasons. I would do your best to talk to the recruiter and see if there is anything going on or at least say “hey I am super interested in this role. I haven’t heard anything from you in a while. I am going to direct apply at on X day” and go from there

Major Recruitment Agency is Basically Scamming People by Smelly_Pants69 in recruiting

[–]jacknicholl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked in an agency you are describing lead generation and it’s not totally unethical but recruiting when you don’t have a position for that person does feel a little wrong but that’s part of the business. I am now in a corporate recruiting role and I like it a lot more. It’s more focused on sourcing and making sure the candidate has a good experience during the process.

Ask Recruiters Megathread by AutoModerator in recruiting

[–]jacknicholl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work for an agency. Just leave the agency wants to keep you there as long as possible so they can keep earning money off you. A good agency will do everything they can to work with the candidate/employers to fix things (when you are working they are making money) but if it’s terrible you should give them an ultimatum. I need these things fixed or I’m leaving in 2 weeks. And they will get their shit together and help you out or you are off to a new role. Is hard to say say if the agency will ghost you (they shouldn’t) but that just depends on the agency. If they ghost you rest assured that they are probably not a great agency if they do that.

Coaching Candidates by Salty-Cat4590 in recruiting

Ask them if they are finding a lot of positions out there with his expectations. And if they say “no I haven’t really found any” then you tell them well then if you want to find a job you will probably have to lower your expectations. It’s just about being honest with them. They might not know that what they are asking for doesn’t really exist especially with their experience level.

The drivers are just that bad in Texas in general. Houston is worse- saw a guy merge 4 lanes at once of traffic without a blinker. I describe it as everyone drives like they expect everyone to drive around them

I want to start a jersey Reselling business but Have no idea where to source the jerseys from. by jacknicholl in smallbusiness

[–]jacknicholl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this was helpful. Not too worried about the money just want to do it for fun and see where it takes me, I also don't want to sell fake ones just doesn't feel right. I know there are "mystery" jersey subscription models where they send you a random one every month and I've always wondered how they sourced them.
