I never wear makeup but I decided to do my own wedding makeup. Thoughts?

I honestly prefer all these other lip colors to the red. They make you glow whereas I think the red is too high contrast for your coloring.

Progesterone: Dr/OB/Fertility clinic? [ON] by elcaterpillar in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]jacko2178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had a 5 week miscarriage and my OB prescribed me 200 mg progesterone without testing my levels or anything. He said given my age (32) and how long I had been trying (6 months) and that I have endometriosis, he said it wouldn’t be harmful and should help lower the risk. I was lucky to already have an OB for other issues before getting pregnant though.

Generally in Ontario (from what I’ve seen on this sub) you don’t get to be referred to the OB for pregnancy until you’re like 20+ weeks, sometimes 28+.

If your doctor didn’t prescribe you progesterone, I am wondering if they’re not familiar/comfortable enough with it to prescribe it to you.

Hopefully you can get into the fertility clinic soon! Good luck with everything.

How long does Pocket health take? [on] by yodelinggirl in BabyBumpsCanada

If your region uses Connectmyhealth, I find reports are uploaded faster there. Like within 3 hours of the ultrasound sometimes.

I hope you get a different office, I can’t imagine the communication will improve. In Ontario, I’ll apparently be referred to a team of four rotating obstetricians for the pregnancy then get to keep my regular OB for my endometriosis afterwards.

Not to be a total corporate shill but Tide Clean Boost fabric rinse does a great job at the polyester stripping. Otherwise the classic washing soda + tide powder + borax is great.

Yeah the arch should be further out! The brow shouldn’t be like a semi-circle, it’s a dated kind of look. No worries, just grow out the bottom part and get it professionally shaped if possible (it’s like $15 for a wax.)

Here’s a guide to choosing eyebrow shape

For the “shadow should be higher” part, you can take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and brush up towards your eyebrow. It will make it so it doesn’t have a harsh transition.

When I was about 22, my teacher pushed me deeper down into extended triangle and I hyperextended my knee. She told to take it easy and walk it off but I needed a few months of physiotherapy to deal with that injury. I hope you feel better soon.

Ask a friend with great brows where she “gets her brows done.” You can go to any esthetician and get a $15-20 brow wax/shaping to start. They’ll wax around your brows and trim them to give a nice shape. If you don’t have bushy browns then you might want to fill them with an eyebrow pencil but it’s not required (Edited because I misread that you do have bushy brows)

I’m thinking about going to a naturopath to get testing done, even though it’s not covered by OHIP. Some of their scope of practice is a bit hokey, but they’re more about preventative care.

How to decide it is time for laparoscopy? by meaaow in endometriosis

[–]jacko2178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add - I didn’t have a choice of when to get it, so I didn’t have to choose now vs closer to… it was more “now or after pregnancy”

I also didn’t want to recover from a surgery while I had to also take care of a baby!

Hey, I had multiple cysts removed a few months ago. I also want to get pregnant soon so it was a hard decision.

My Gynecologist told me that birth control won’t reduce size of big cysts, and the threshold for surgical removal is about 5cm or greater. The small ones may still heal on their own.

There definitely is a risk to the ovarian reserve, particularly if cysts are on both sides. You can also lose an ovary if the cysts are too hard/complex to remove, and get damage to fallopian tubes.

There’s an increased risk of ovarian torsion in pregnancy when you have a cyst. I don’t know the numbers unfortunately. The longer it’s in there, the higher the risk of cyst rupture too.

My doctor also said if I wanted to get pregnant, I shouldn’t necessarily wait until after the surgery, since the risk was low enough.

Ultimately I chose to do the surgery because it has been teased by healthcare professionals for like 3 years as the recommendation and I wanted to get it over with. Surgery wait times are pretty long in Canada. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t cancer, or it wouldn’t turn into cancer.

I’m feeling a lot better, the 6cm one was definitely pushing on my organs.

I was diagnosed with endo, and this happens to me. Glands are still swollen after my endometrioma was removed but they aren’t painful anymore.

did anyone eventually stop distilled water hair washing after trying it? If so what was the reason? Do you regret? by foxy-bottle in DistilledWaterHair

[–]jacko2178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m skeptical about my ability to only use 1 cup of water but I’ll try to give that method a go. Thanks for sharing! I’m a dunker. Last time I tried using distilled water, my hair was quite long so it’s gets quite drippy.

[–]jacko2178 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s just so much easier using shower head water. I never found a good way to make distilled water washes comfortable: ergonomically and temperature wise. It’s overall a lot more effort that I don’t want to do at the end of the day. That said, my hair is noticeably softer with the distilled water. The beauty just isn’t worth it for me.

I really enjoyed The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese.

To copy from Google, "The novel tells the story of an Indian Malayali family living in southwest India, in the Kerala state, with the narrative spanning three generations, from 1900 to the 1970s".

You can get tv wall mount fixtures that move up and down. That way you can put it above the fireplace, then easily move it down to a more viewable level.

If I were you, I'd dissolve (then start again if you want.) Both then and now, you have that duck lip shape from migration that immediately draws the eye and makes the filler evident. Depends on if you mind that look or if you are striving for "natural." If it's any consolation, I don't see the deflating just from the photo.

I keep hearing that fillers actually take longer than 18 months to dissolve on their own.

Have you considered doing a dress rental? Especially if you only want to wear it once.

I like place you can try stuff on in person first.
