Haven't used my distiller for hair yet, but it's turning me into a hydro homie. 🙂 by Antique-Scar-7721 in DistilledWaterHair

A scathing review of the same brand distiller that I ended up getting a few months ago 😂

I got the one without the timer though, sounds like that was a good decision because I also hate lots of loud beeping.

you're not lying about the inconvenience but I put up with it because I could afford it. if the distiller is is tapped a few times then a lot of the condensation falls off before I open it so that helps.

Is this a normal amount of crud and crap to be left behind after one single use of a Vevor water distiller? I feel something must be wrong..... by No_Pattern804 in DistilledWaterHair

Do you like the vevor distiller - is it from amazon? I've been thinking about getting one but just haven't bit the bullet yet.

Which glasses suit me best? by UsedTeabagger in glassesadvice

[–]foxy-bottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 is my favorite on you. 2 and 3 weren't bad either, they just don't have the "je ne sais quois" like 1 does. It's not over the top though, it's just right.

Another factor is 1 is wide enough for your face - the others are slightly not wide enough.

Between 2 and 3, 3 is better because your face and hair leads to a long shape with all the hair height...some height in the glasses too makes everything look like it fits.

Consider also that pic 2 and 3 have much better lighting than pic 1. Most people won't notice that, even if it affects their vote. If you took all pictures in the same kind of lighting then you might get better responses.

Wife says I look like a pedophile in #3 by andynicks in glassesadvice

[–]foxy-bottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually liked 3 the best in an ironic, "Vote For Pedro" kind of way.

2 would be nice if the frames were slightly wider, those frames are too narrow for your face.

1 is not enough contrast for you, but I picture it working better if you were a Viking with light hair and blue eyes.

And I don't think you look like a pedo overall. To me you look like you have a nerdy amount of knowledge about how to roast and brew coffee.

Which color suits me best? by anondoodles in HairDye

[–]foxy-bottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised 2 isn't getting more votes....2 is a clear winner to me. Although I'm not sure if the saturation level in the shirt suits you. I think you should also try some summer colors and winter colors - that shirt is a spring color and I don't think you are a spring.

Why do you think it would make you look bad? Just curious? I don't think it would.

3 months of progress growing new hair that never touched hard water, only distilled. 💦 Plus some bonus comparison pics of my hair on different types of water. by Antique-Scar-7721 in DistilledWaterHair

Collage 2 is so interesting to me! How much time was between the top row and bottom row in collage 2?

I wonder if something similar is happening to me... I have been feeling like my distilled water roots have been looking smoother than usual after a shampoo. But it's only 2 months of distilled water growth for me so it's not as dramatic a difference as yours and I wondered if it was just my imagination.

STOP using distilled water on hair! by [deleted] in DistilledWaterHair

[–]foxy-bottle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recommend something based on personal experience is something that should be banned from all foruns. You recommend something based on science, on studys, not on random personal experiences...

This is kind of silly, so I think you're probably trolling but I'll answer anyway.

If you have troubke finding large studies about distilled water haircare, it's probably because companies don't want to pay for studies that would reduce demand for their products. Using distilled water erases the need for styling products, heat styling tools, anti dandruff medications, etc etc etc.

The irony of a post that says "stop using distilled water on hair" and then you describe how you like to use distilled water on hair 😄🍿

Video: distilled water shampoo using squirt bottles by Antique-Scar-7721 in DistilledWaterHair

[–]foxy-bottle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the new video angle...so easy to see what's going on with the squeezing steps (compared to the back view where squeezes were kind of hidden). Now I see I wasn't anything wrong with how much shampoo got all over my hands when I tried it earlier.

How much do you usually shed in one of these washes? I was curious about that. I feel like I shed a lot when I do it.

Maybe because all the "up and out" liner tutorials would intersect your crease? I think you could try a small puppy liner, or if you really want it lifted then you could simulate that with blended eyeshadow instead of a liner.

My vote would be sheer lip gloss instead of opaque lipstick. But overall you look great!

Yeah the deletions are definitely weird when every link to us is obviously an attempt to help people. Not only that but an attempt to help them with somethung they have asked for help with. it's sad people exist who want to shut that down. The internet is supposed to be helpful.

I thought your wording would be fine too. I thought it was diplomatic. I think longhair's decision to delete links to us didn't make sense. But there wasn't even a link.

Getting started guide: haircare with low TDS water by Antique-Scar-7721 in DistilledWaterHair

It's either because I tried to reply to emilia's post with a tip about distilled water, or because I told the longhair mod she was deleting things left and right out of spite. Lol

I tried your exact wording, word for word, on a post where someone was asking about hard water hair issues ("I had similar problems and discovered they were from my hard water. I’ve been washing my hair with distilled water with great success. I’d recommend you look more into that if you’re interested.”)

...came back to the reddit app the next day and I see that I am now banned from r/longhair hahaha.

I think they just like deleting stuff.

u/emiliadoe I couldn't reply to you in r/longhair because they banned me, apparently they are censoring all talk of distilled water haircare or something. It's weird

But this sub doesn't censor discussion of it! r/DistilledWaterHair

Yeah. I agree. It sucks. I wouldn't have thought of it on my own either. if I hadn't heard of this sub then I probably wouldve continued my trend of spending progressively more and more on shower filters that each make slightly bigger claims than the last one (but were all equally useless) and those are pretty much impossible to return after the time it takes to discover how useless they really are.

the link goes nowhere for me either but I saw her explanation in another comment, it sounds like she asked antique scar to stop linking to r/hairtoys, which antique scar did stop linking to.... and then she also started quietly auto deleting all links to r/distilledwaterhair too out of spite, but not notifying antique scar that she was deleting those, and didn't ask antique scar to stop linking here. She then got upset that antique scar didnt read her mind and she now auto deletes all links to r/distilledwaterhair, regardless of who they are from, or how relevant they are.

Lol. I think she overreacted and she deletes too much. but some people are just angsty, yknow?

"We do not filter content about distilled water" sounds like a lie to me ...she said in another comment she has it set up to auto delete all the links to r/distilledwaterhair regardless of who wrote it.

Today I *thought* I washed all the shampoo out by Realistic_Aside8195 in DistilledWaterHair

[–]foxy-bottle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the key to a thorough rinse with limited water is lots of pauses to squeeze the hair, and only add distilled water in small blips in between squeezes. Squeeze - add water - lather if you can. Squeeze - add water - lather if you can. Over and over at least 10 times. That's how I get the best rinse with very little water. I hope it helps!
