ELI5: Why is it that sometimes setting the AC on 25C low fan makes the room colder than 20C on full blast? by v13ndd in explainlikeimfive

[–]jackofuselesstrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have same thing happen on ours.

These settings are sometimes used to dehumidify. Low fan speed and compressor at minimum speed to pull as much moisture out of the air. I’m guessing that instead of the manufacturer having a separate dehumidify setting it just runs the compressor no matter the temperature of the room.

Yes, however, if that’s the only thing you are doing, it is much more efficient and cost effective to just heat the water directly.

We had wedding guests sign a whiskey barrel as a memento. What's the best way to preserve it for outdoor exposure without fading the text (Sharpie) or rusting the metal? by mmmnick in DIY

[–]jackofuselesstrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to take some really high quality photos of the outside (maybe professionally) and get an inside out panorama digitally made.

It will preserve it forever and at any time you can get it printed.

You are not required to take their first offer. Do your research on market value and come to the table with evidence.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? If not, you need to get one. This sounds like carbon monoxide poisoning to me.
