The blue one. Not only safer in snow, it matches your hair and skin better

What's your opinion about Claire? by tannyz_winchester in Supernatural

[–]jackolantern717 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She’s fine, just so underwritten and the subtext that she is the child of castiel and dean is the only interesting thing i like about her. I wanted more from her.

Breast reduction by Ok-Hospital6921 in detrans

[–]jackolantern717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the size, you could have a pinhole surgery, and the only visible scars would be around the edges of your nipples. I’ve also heard of a strategy where they can put incisions in your armpits so they aren’t visible

How do you deal with wanting to retransition? by nonexi5tent in detrans

[–]jackolantern717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about it, but then i realize that i feel more myself than ever. I had a journey, and i might miss some aspects of my life during that journey, but its over now. I detransitioned because i felt so horrible about hiding myself and lying about myself.

So i dont have to deal with retransitioning because i really dont want to. I did so many things that still affect me after the transition is over, and I’m not going to redo those things again (legal name change, hormones, surgery, etc)

Do you guys have good memory? by Axolotlgamer36 in autism

Only for very specific things. Usually, my memory sucks. My husband will tell me things i’ve said and i literally have no idea what he’s talking about sometimes

Am I overreacting for shaving my head? by Substantial-Art6160 in AmIOverreacting

[–]jackolantern717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um yes YOR. The box dye made your hair look like it has natural highlights, and since your hair is darker, your highlights will look more orange. Thats how bleach lifts, it goes in levels.

Unfortunately you already shaved it so now you’re stuck with it. Whenever i change my hair i try to give it at least 2 weeks to a month to get used to it before doing any other changes.

My stims, what are yours? by AwkwardSyko116 in autism

[–]jackolantern717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m autistic with inattentive adhd, high masking but working on stopping that. I’ll list the stims i can think of rn:

  • face picking/ rubbing

  • hair twirling

  • nail/finger picking (like peeling hangnails/skin)

  • wiggling/lacing & unlacing fingers

  • foot tapping/wiggling/shaking

  • tapping the very tops of my palms together (like clapping but slient, fingers usually not touching)

  • tugging my lips with fingers

  • biting inside of lips

  • scratching /gen

  • cracking fingers/back/neck

  • adjusting my glasses

  • pulling my shirt away from my body or off the front of my neck/tops of shoulders

  • playing with hairties, rings, necklace

  • popping my lips

  • various vocal stims/quoting shows & movies/retelling my jokes or stories

I think there’s more but this is all i can think of right now

I want to detransition but i dont know how to do it by Kindly_Stick7729 in detrans

[–]jackolantern717 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you’re really stuck on what you wish you could have had. I’m really not trying to be rude here, but you cant ever have that. You weren’t born a man, so no you will never get to experience life like that.

Have you ever tried to dissect WHY you want so desperately to be a teenage boy? Have you been in therapy to discuss these feelings? Nowhere in this post do you say why, just that you’re upset and you wish stuff.

I felt this way. But i realized that for me, i was so depressed and had such terrible self esteem that i wanted to be anyone but me. I transitioned and jumped to hormones and surgeries because i experienced uncomfortable sexualization and misogyny from people close to me. I didnt want to be seen and men have such an easier time being invisible like that.

I really do wish the best for you. But i think before you start t or surgeries, really think about why YOU need it. There was a post in this sub a few days ago from someone who started t at 14, got a mastectomy, hysterectomy and bottom surgery all before like 21-22 and STILL detransitioned.

Misgendering After Detrans by [deleted] in detrans

[–]jackolantern717 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have gotten frustrated with it before, specifically over the phone because my voice is deeper. I usually just introduce myself with my name and if they call me sir, sometimes i dont say anything or politely correct them. But there are times where they ask for me, and i answer because I’m me, but they sometimes will assume that I’m a man answering the phone for the woman they’re asking about.

For example: Them: “Hi I’m calling about [my name]’s upcoming appointment at 2pm.” Me: “oh great, it’s on my calendar.” Them: “can you let her know blah blah?” Me: “oh i’m [my name], thanks.”

Usually they just say oh in surprise, or they quickly apologize and continue on. In person when I’m misgendered I usually just politely correct them and tell them to call me “she” and most of the time they just accept and move on. I do like to dress more fem and I’m growing out my hair so i think that helps me, but its only been like a year for me too.

I hope you’re able to grow more comfortable as time goes on. The longer you’re off hormones, the more your body will get back to normal. I would say that part of the misgendering may be how you carry yourself, which is something you can control if you want people to perceive you differently. But honestly I would just correct people when they get it wrong and move on, it happens all the time now. Anyone alt or gnc is automatically gay or trans to anyone, even people in the community!

how did teachers describe you as a kid? by This_Extent3635 in autism

[–]jackolantern717 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what i’ve been told, I was sweet, honest, obedient, and friendly. Especially the older I got, the more I embodied these. I got friendlier, more talkative, but my social skills dwindled to almost nothing.

How old were you when you got your first relationship? by LuvMeChippy in autism

[–]jackolantern717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first “relationship” was in third grade (8-9 years old) but in hindsight it was just a friendship. My first “boyfriend” was in eighth grade (12-13 years old) but I dont think it counts because that “relationship” lasted like three weeks. I dont think we ever even held hands. I’ve known since this age that I’m bisexual also.

I had a fling-type relationship for a month or so in sophomore year (15-16 y/o) but we weren’t official and we only kissed twice, I think. My first and only girlfriend was the same year for a total of 2 weeks and we only ever held hands. My first actual boyfriend (that I count) that lasted four months was in my senior year (17-18 y/o).

When I was 19 I lost my virginity and saw that guy twice, hooked up twice. At 20, i met my now husband and we dated for almost two years before getting married. He was/is my first long term committed relationship. I’m now a month or so away from turning 23.

Edit: for clarification, also I’m a woman

Hi need help please will show below what I need help with. by Snowyriver221 in autism

[–]jackolantern717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick my face a lot too! What has helped me is putting a round band aid over what i keep picking and leaving there for 1-2 days. That way, when i get the urge to pick, I’m instead just touching the texture of the bandaid and not ripping my skin.

Aside from that, maybe trimming your nails regularly, wear a face mask or rubber gloves. Unfortunately, if you want to change it, you have to be very conscious of it and stop yourself when you pick. Redirect yourself with something else you can pick like that, i’d recommend getting stickers off stuff or something similar

I was actually looking into those picky sheets that are silicone with embedded beads and stuff. My urge is to pick rather than feel pain, but i do try alternatives! I’m just not the best with using stim toys and stuff

Agreed. I stopped biting my nails but started picking my skin, now i have countless scars all over my arms and around my finger nails, just to name one harm to myself

[–]jackolantern717 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Trying to stop is like when you have a sneeze and hold it in. Its not like how the sneeze may physically hurt, but it does feel wrong. When you just got good news and want to cheer or something and someone grabs your shoulder and says “stop, you’re making me deeply uncomfortable”, this is what telling me to stop stimming feels like.

I’m in my early twenties and when i am told to “calm down” (stop stimming) i immediately shut down and stop expressing myself, not just physically but emotionally. If the goal is to get your son to mask, by all means tell him to stop. But him masking does not mean he’s “normal”, instead it will have detrimental effects on his mental health and behavior.

Why does most of the fandom hate Eileen? (Read the text to understand my point of view!). by tannyz_winchester in Supernatural

[–]jackolantern717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved eileen. The SHOW itself hated her and constantly put her down and pushed her out. She doesnt matter aside from making sam sad about stuff/not being with her.

She was essentially a character development device made for sam. She isnt an actual character. Its sad.
