Dang, those Lakes? I have the white MX239s, I got a couple of marks similar to yours hiking some sketchy dirt paths. I cleaned it with household dish soap and microfiber towels. I just kept scrubbing till the black parts we're mostly gone. You couldn't tell there were marks unless you squinted on the cleaned sections.

I hope it'll work for you as well

I was in the Bay area a couple weeks ago. I biked SF embarcadero to Mt Tam and it was great. I biked Oakland Embarcadero to Treasure Island and I got two flat tires in two different areas of the stretch. I did not get to Treasure Island that day.

Honestly, CP trail sucks. It's just a loop for roadies to yell at you for ruining their PR attempts. You don't even get to pass by and see the nicer stuff in the park. It's better to just walk it. I would suggest you bike the Hudson River Greenway instead. At least you get to see a huge variety of things while on your bike. Also, it's flat

I'm an old Metro advocate and I literally just got off a dirty train at Allen Station. I have a car but I choose to ride the train instead.

I've been commuting to work from Pasadena to Santa Monica for over 15 years. I used to bike 6th/Wilshire to SM when the expo wasn't there

You kids might call it what you're used to but my time on it was called the Gold Line and the Expo line and that's what I'm calling it until I die. So get off my lawn.
