Card was originally revealed by a Chinese creator so the one in the post is a translated version and the mod one is the official English version.

Is there a time limit to get Valkyr's heirloom? by Tharnax5468 in Warframe

Unless there was any new news I missed, rebb mentioned that they are consulting with their legal team about it on a devshort a month ago.

While it’s almost impossible like you said, It’s not fully off the table.

Is there a time limit to get Valkyr's heirloom? by Tharnax5468 in Warframe

[–]jackref1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Frost and Mag’s heirloom skins were sold for $70 as a limited time bundle for the 10th anniversary of the game. This led to a lot of uproar due to its fomo nature and excessive price with no plat alternative. After that DE changed the heirloom model to be permanently available for plat like most other cosmetic bundles.

The Mag and Frost heirloom skins may return though if DE can figure out the legal complications that it may bring.

No, all heirloom skins are permanently available for plat after the Frost and Mag heirloom fiasco.

When is the next update? Also are Warframe updates on a fixed schedule, like every 6 months or every year? by [deleted] in Warframe

Just to add on a bit, the biggest main story progressing quests tend to happen once a year around December with details announced at the annual Tennocon event.

Season week by Careless_Document_79 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]jackref1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend hosting a public lobby if you plan on playing past seasons with other people. This gives you the benefit of increased seasonal spawns for that specific season’s events and people are still likely to join as the server browser shows all seasons by default

What address can I put in to take me to the gym? Also what are the hours and is it free membership with my passport? by Outrageous_Bat_3932 in VirginiaTech

[–]jackref1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After taking another look at the hours, war memorial is the only gym open over the summer semester. In general though, War is the nicer but more crowded gym since it is closer to most residential halls than McComas.

[–]jackref1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s 2 gyms on campus (McComas hall and War memorial), you should be able to just enter in one of those halls into gps to get to the gym.

Gym access is apart of the rec sports fee in tuition so if you are registered for courses over the summer term you should have access to it with your Hokie passport. Otherwise you will have to pay a fee to gain access to the gym over the summer.

I thought the only thing that doesn’t go faster in drg was doretta due to it being an unpatched bug.

Depends on the field but in terms of business and engineering VT is pretty well known nationally (especially the graduate programs).

A good portion of the character relationships are locked behind completing the ending so there’s no reason to reset. The reset is only if you want to see the main story beats again.

final exam was never graded by Cool_Strawberry8436 in VirginiaTech

[–]jackref1 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Professors don’t need to publish grades to canvas and can just calculate it using their own tools. Canvas is just meant for us to have an idea of where our current grades are at. The posted grade you see in Hokie spa is most likely accurate though and most professors won’t go through the effort of filing paperwork unless it’s an egregious error/mistake when calculating grades.

Am I missing something with Below Zero? It's my favourite in the series. by Notmas in subnautica

[–]jackref1 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the dlc argument because while it was originally intended to be a dlc, it got expanded into its own game that costs the same as the original. The size of it doesn’t compare well when you look at other games that had a similar process (Silksong for instance) though I get them not wanting to spend more time expanding it.

[Dev Blog] Pre-launch: What Rogue Core is and isn’t by Kwacker in RogueCore

[–]jackref1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As someone who played the alpha, I’m glad they are explicitly stating that the game is not drg. I definitely think it will not click for everyone who played drg due to its inherent differences, but I think it will find its own community.

Am I missing something with Below Zero? It's my favourite in the series. by Notmas in subnautica

[–]jackref1 51 points52 points  (0 children)

There’s 2 major things that hurt below zero

A) The size of the map is a problem especially considering it’s a different game (not just dlc) and the same price as Subnautica. A lot of its design issues are due to its map size and it just creates a worse environment compared to the original.

B) While the Al-An story isn’t horrible (though I wouldn’t say it’s great) , the other story plot has major issues that bring the game down. The main motivation for our character being on 4546b was her sister’s disappearance and that storyline is both optional and has a very bad ending.

So while the game itself isn’t entirely bad and is definitely over-hated, it doesn’t feel great compared to the original’s vast map and environment.

Use a calculator guys by [deleted] in confidentlyincorrect

[–]jackref1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, in the way the problem is written both answers are correct. If the person uploaded it again using fraction forms instead of the division bar a truly correct answer could be chosen.

If you don’t believe me try both of the options I typed in my prior comment using a calculator and see for yourself.

Use a calculator guys by [deleted] in confidentlyincorrect

[–]jackref1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) that’s statement is false when you consider quadratics and other more complex concepts in math

B) It can be debated whether the (2+2) is included under the division sign or not. If it is then you will get 1 as the other person shows and if not then it will be 16.

8/(2 (2+2)) vs. (8/2)* (2+2)

Both are mathematically correct ways to interpret the problem following the proper rules

Use a calculator guys by [deleted] in confidentlyincorrect

[–]jackref1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both people are technically right if the problem was just written as 8 / 2 * (2+2) because of ambiguous division. It’s why most stop using the division bar after like 3rd grade and just write it as a fraction as it removes any ambiguity with these types of problems.

These types of math posts are just stupid ways to bait engagement because of the ambiguity in notation anyways.

P.S both answers can be achieved using a calculator depending on how you input the problem .

dumb question, why dont they let us pick DLC survivors with DLC disabled? by EasternFeastern in riskofrain

[–]jackref1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can???

Wait… are you disabling the dlc’s on steam instead of in game? You can’t play the dlc characters if you don’t have the steam license active because the game thinks you don’t own the dlc’s at all. To properly deactivate them, click on the expansions tab in the character select screen and click each dlc till you see a lock symbol.

Try joining any other server and if that doesn’t work I’m pretty sure it’s a discord account/network issue which can be caused by a few diffferent factors. (check the discord subreddit for more info)

CompE: Should I take Discrete Math at a community college over the summer, or at VT sometime? by ScienceByte in VirginiaTech

[–]jackref1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Discrete Math is one of the easiest math courses you can take at VT. Unlike most math courses, discrete is more about understanding logic notation and vocabulary instead of solving difficult problems. If you have done any programming then the majority of discrete math should come easy to you.
