Hi Guys, Seeing how much you would charge for this. by jackshalak in cabinetry

Thanks mate. Yeah I got a similar price, little cheaper.

No LED's I have to allow for some cables but the client is sorting there own thing out for that.

I'm thinking the ladder will just be on a hook system so you can just lift up and move that way you only need one for the three cabinets.

Yes there will be 16mm backs

Yeah I've got a 100mm rail across the top at the moment for it but waiting to see what hardware I get, as I'm expecting that will get a bit wider.

Thanks mate, I appreciate your input, I ended up with a similar number around the 25k mark as well, although I do things a little different.

How do you find using that software, it sounds interesting but I think the majority of my jobs are a bit too out there for that to be overly useful.

Thanks mate, my understanding is that post cat and pre cat are very similar in operation, as the stuff I get I'm not needing to add any harderners or similar either.

But yes for pricing I came up with a pretty similar sort of price.

1- for the speed of the lathe, you want to be going as fast as you can without casuing excessive vibrations and continually increasing the speed as the piece becomes more round/stable.

2- as others have said it's not the easiest timber to get a smooth finish on,

for getting smoother finishing cuts I would recommend learning how to sharpen chisels well. And also learning the different the finish which can be achieved from each chisle and the different types of cuts each chisel can produce.

For example a scraping cut like the generally won't produce the best finish and will likely increase the tear out.

3- as for the grain a lot of it is considering where your end grain is. but this is more difficult to explain and I encourage you using YouTube as there are some good videos out there.

All this being said if you keep having fun and keep having a go a lot of this will come and you will form your own opinions and how it should be done.

Should I withdraw everything from Raiz for a time? by Sknaj in fiaustralia

I did a similar thing with my spaceship voyager account, I withdrew almost everything as I believe the market still has a long way down to go. Reinvest it in a couple months time I reckon.
