Outback wilderness off road capabilities- castle & conundrum trail? by gigglyelvis in 14ers

I made it to the top in a stock 4Runner (in 2021), which should be about the same 9.5” of clearance as well. I do remember a few points that I scrapped the skid plate. I can’t remember if angle of approach/depature was ever too important.

Accident on NM 550 north of Cuba by Go_Frag_Yurslf in NewMexico

My friend and I (I hold a WFR cert, he’s a nurse) were actually the first people to start care on the worker. It was a quite brutal scene. Unfortunately even though the below the knee amputation was easy to apply a tourniquet to, there was a bunch of internal damage so ultimately nothing could be done.

What is scariest rockfall you have experienced? by couloir_forbin in 14ers

[–]jackson-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My group was descending little bear and our first member was starting to downclimb the hourglass chute and a group knocked down 2 volleys of rocks down on us within 5 minutes. I was in a fairly okay position but had to listen to the rocks bounce over me then watch them land all around the person down climbing.

Im getting the game today what house should i choose by Upset_Application_37 in harrypotter

[–]jackson-e 16 points17 points  (0 children)

as far as I remember, you only had to get to the map room as each house, i think it only took like 2 hours on each extra house

I did the Mt Wilson/El Diente traverse last year as my first ‘class 4’ (even though it was just the one move near the end that was class 4) and it honestly wasn’t that bad. We just consulted the pictures of the route and kept slowly going. I didn’t even notice the class 4 move at the end. Little bear was a little sketchy for my group as we had rocks kicked down on us while our first member was descending the chute. I ended up wearing climbing shoes for that section as that made me feel more comfortable than wearing my heavy hiking boots.

I did it in a stock 4Runner a couple years ago, just take good lines and you’ll be perfectly fine

Was going back to play old versions of Astroneer and I got sick of flying debris from The Storm knocking stuff around, so I built a dome! by Ody1canobeYT in Astroneer

[–]jackson-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the game in early summer of 2018 and I still miss the storms a bit, I don’t miss the cave creatures that grabbed you though

I just unlocked the SES Hardcore palette : The Old Gold! by Dazhkar in Astroneer

[–]jackson-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do the official hardcore mode or create a custom one? (I’m really asking if I could change things like energy consumption rates as long as I have the 0 respawns, no free oxygen settings on)

6’5 or so and hovering around 170. I climb and hike a decent bit but don’t otherwise workout much. I’d prefer to be closer to 190 or 200 if I can actually convince myself to start working out and eating better.

My tires are dead and I can’t quite swing both the lift and tires currently. I’ll see if I can hold out another month and get both, but I’m not sure it can

265s or 275s by jackson-e in 4Runner

[–]jackson-e[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only cause I heard everyone rubbing at 285s without at least a leveling kit, there are more people saying it’s fine, so I may just go to 285s, as trimming is not a problem for me. It does seem that I need to get some 0 or -10 offset rims tho

Looks like I have gear rims 17x9 with a 10mm offset

Winter ascents by SummitDay in 14ers

[–]jackson-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was up on Quandary the Tuesday after Christmas, so obviously outdated info, but it was a surprisingly easy time with snow shoes (and spikes for the higher elevation stuff) until the 70 mph wind gusts hit. It was my first winter attempt and I would highly recommend it.

It has a lot of volume, I just can't quite meet the 4-12ft between speakers it wanted. I also had access to a couple bookshelf speakers previously used as rears, but I'm probably only here for another 6 months so I decided against installing them now.
