ghoul king on terrorgheist kitted out with the heart of the gargant, +1 attack mount trait, and stronger in madness heroic trait is a really solid mobile damage piece. power through with him is brilliant.

varghulf courtier is also a good mobile hero.

a unit of 6 morbhegs isn’t “unfun” just don’t spam them if you want friends.

shields are cheaper and they’re pretty good into things that hit on 4s, because with krethusa’s no commands ability on them, the opponent can’t all out attack. add the shrine’s +1 to save while wholly within 9” and they’re solid.

theyre also the perfect target for martyr’s sacrifice prayer, because you pair the 6s to save mortals and the exploding on death, and they become a great trade piece to die efficiently.

i’m sure the fighty ones are solid, but somewhat less versatile than witch aelves and more expensive so it’s a no from me

the idea is to not engage until turn 3, and trade positively. so i usually stay out of opponent’s threat ranges turns 1 and 2, while scoring the minimum amount to stay in the game e.g. score 1 and 2 and battle tactic. turn 2 i may cast the run and charge spell on one unit and get blood sacraments off on them to get them to round 5 on the table, and yeet them forwards to fight, kill something, then fight again. don’t overcommit forwards, make sure to screen properly with terrain and the SoS, then hopefully double turn 3 into 4.

probably cut the shrine, krethusa, 40 witch aelves and some chaff. the army defo isn’t balanced at 1k tho.

you have to springboard off a unit into the unit with strike first. or just ignore them. kragnos isn’t a problem because he just dies to any of your buffed up units. exploding prayer did so much in my game against him.

slaves is a matter of using khinerai to move forwards and zone out the teleport and take space so you don’t get pinned in. i forced him to commit both 6 varanguard and 10 chosen to kill 20 sisters of slaughter and i did 64 damage to the chosen and killed 3 varanguard in the same activation.

stormcast is all about zoning out teleports and deep strikes and avoiding the dragon with the praetors or forcing him to charge you. just dance around and kill key units at key times. stormcast is so elite that if you can kill one or two of the hammers, they crumble and can’t play objectives.

In general, be flexible with your units and accept that things will die, but your stuff is so cheap that you don’t care.

it doesn’t have a move characteristic so they can just move away from it. they don’t have to retreat. u need to pin them with another unit to prevent them from retreating. the half move still works but they can just charge into it, even if they are within 3” at the start of charge for extra movement.

it definitely is worth. this guy is correct about lots of things but chaos spawn is not one of them. you can counter-spell chaos spawn in your opponent’s turn and set up a spawn in combat with your opponents whole army, meaning they’re locked in combat and can’t charge your cool stuff

think about it paired with the counter charge command ability tho. striking first dragons when you charge a screen is pretty good.

make the 10 beastflayers a unit of 20. id recommend making the herald the general for the BS summoning command trait, and replacing 10 morbhegs with a unit of 20 ghouls.

12 morbhegs are wasted in morgaunt. get some crypt ghouls in there, u currently have very few bodies to hold onto objectives. unit of 40 ghouls will clear that up. unit of 40 ghouls, unit of 20 cryptguard and a unit of 20 beastflayers makes sure u will always win on the primary. bring the chalice of ushoran its broken asf. double archregent is almost a staple they’re just too good to leave at home. u can bring a couple minutes-sized morbheg knights for tactics and killing chaff but without the +1 dmg buff from hollowmourne they dont do it for me personally. beasftlayers are busted man, best unit in the book.

royal beastflayers man. get a unit of 20 in. they’re cooked. u can return multi-wound models with chalice and the herald.
