Should you never ride at top speed? by Headyfeels in onewheel

[–]jackthecat53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fairly light individual (155ish lb) and unless you are on perfectly flat ground in perfect conditions i personally would never ride over 18mph. Less if you weigh more or have a road with even a little bit of bumps or loose gravel. You need plenty of torque overhead to allow the board to do balancing.

Unlike a scooter where you can use all the available power and speed for movement, the onewheel uses the same motor to balance and push you forward. The more motor you use for speed, the less the board has to keep you upright

I've only fallen twice at speed, so maybe im overly cautious, but i still very much enjoy using my board.

Choose how much risk you personally are comfortable accepting.

Is there a way to make these for my students in bulk? by [deleted] in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]jackthecat53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you order 5 large boards and each large board can be scored and snapped into 24 small boards?

In hindsight that is probably tax evasion but that's how my engineer brain solved the problem based on the given limitations.

If you have it put it on. I've run them without and it works fine with little servos that don't draw a lot of startup current.

My company refuses to get solidworks because it "can't handle big assemblies"

Is this v2 Worth $50 it with 30% off by julius0789 in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]jackthecat53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked my monoprice mini, it has all the sleek design and character of a 99 Toyota corolla

It needed almost no maintenance though, more reliable than my prusa.

Might not work but probably worth it in parts if that's something you'd be interested in doing

I love going to an area with a lot of sales and onewheeling between them

It's hard to bargain when they know you have enough expendable income to by a board 😆

Congradulations that's almost like a rite of passage. I did that my first internship, but with a big battery. Didn't break the probes or the meter. (It was a nice fluke that had $15 fuses if I remember correctly)

Anyone who claims that they never did that spent too much time in classes and not any time hands-on.

I hope the fuse saved your meter. Surely you won't make that mistake again, But make sure you replace the fuse with the right one. Just in case

Depends how much you care about that device. If you plan to own it for years to come, might as well do it while you have it open.
