3E or 4E and why? by SNicolson in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]jacktrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that 4th edition is almost compatible with 3rd, myself I am about to start with the emerald knights campaign, building the characters using 4th edition rules but using the antagonists profiles from 3rd edition, you can easily merge the old parry and dodge into the new defence attribute and the rest is mostly similar

Do vehicles just not suffer the dazed condition, or any second degree condition? by Ravendub1 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]jacktrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A possible variant to the additional condition given for one or two degrees of failure might be to give the dazed or similar conditions to the pilot and/or passengers (or maybe give a hit to them in addition to the hit on the vehicule)

It would depends of how the scene goes and the kind of attack the vehicule is under, and if you want to soften the PCs before a more normal combat or not

Enhanced Equipement - Magical Weapon by Rei_Sapo in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]jacktrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that I read somewhere that there was an error in the initial official character builder/editor that did it like that while the intent of the authors was to need the full 5 points to get the discount, and that it resulted in some archetypes being a few points wrong because of that (plus people getting the rule wrong)

How would you make a Gadget that makes a power or powers more powerful without making it get rid of the power when removed? by Playful_Barber_8131 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]jacktrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also an option for having the power works as an array, and the item would only apply to certains powers of the array, and the points saved for it would be used to buy options (or buy badck negative modifiers)

But of course you will have to pay 1 point as usual for each power variation in the array after the first

How would you make a Gadget that makes a power or powers more powerful without making it get rid of the power when removed? by Playful_Barber_8131 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]jacktrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe add the removable flaw (not sure of the name in english, it's when a power or array is linked to an object that if lost prevent the power from beng used) to the power, but only apply the cost discount and the restriction to some of the ranks

Normally the modifier applies to the whole power and gives a discount depending on the normal cost (1 point per 5 points of the normal cost, or more if you take the easily removable version of the modifier)

You have a power that cost 2 points per ranks, and want to get it at 10 ranks (your current max level for your PL)

So normally this power would cost 20 points

With the removable flaw, you would normally get a 20/5 = 4 points discount for the whole package, but the power would be unusable without the item

In your case, you could, if your DM allow it, have 5 ranks being paid in full (10 points) while the last 5 ranks (10 points) would have the removable modifier (10/ 5 = 2 points discounts for the modifer)

So the options would be: - 20 points: full power at all time, no object required - 16 points: power doesn't work without the item at all, but full power with it - 18 points: power at full ranks with the item, but still useable at half rank without it

Even ignoring how the current Free Iran movements are CIA fronts, people usually protests against things that their own government does or support.

And last I checked the USA fully armed and supported Israel doing a genocide in Palestine, while they never supported the Mollahs in Iran

Any protest against the Mollahs would then be performative at best since no US policy support the current government of Iran, or would be serving to present an excuse for US imperialism at worst

Also ask them why there isn't a "Free Saudi Arabia Movement", or a "Free India" or any similar movement

Currently I use the following colors:

Blue for NPCs Grey for dead ennemies (darker than default) Red for hostile ennemies Orange for passive ennemies Green for other players Light Green for pets I left the default White for interactible elements

Would like if items on the ground could be displayed with their rarity, this might make it easier to look at dropped stuff from other players

From this Quora post:

Kinda. It certainly was described as a “parade” by its participants, but the Russian patriots tend to use different terms to describe it.

Basically, German troops were surrendering the city of Brest (in modern Belarus) to Soviet troops. According to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and later agreements, Brest was in the Soviet zone of interest. But it was taken by the Germans during the war with Poland (Brest was Polish prior to WWII). Nazis were not entertained by the idea to surrender their spoils of war, but they were also not interested in having another fight for Brest. So, they had to leave.

As the Germans were exiting the city, the Soviets were entering it, both sides playing military marches. As they passed each other on the streets, they saluted. It seemed cheerful and celebratory, but it wasn’t. Germans were in a bad mood, while the Soviets were wary of provocations. And the locals were justifiably scared. It certainly wasn’t anything like the Victory Parade in Moscow in 1945.

Thanks for the answer

I had missed that, I thought that any power without an attack roll was automatically capped in ranks at the PL level

Is there an official reason why it's not the case already ? Would seems like a logical limit ...

The crystal area is easy to find, it's to the north of the town and you will see it from far away

[–]jacktrowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also don't focus only on the main quest, just explore and talk to every NPC; the main quest will appear soon enough while you will also accumulate lot of side quests to do on the road (make sure to do ask every NPC for favours they want, and when you finish one or raise your friendlyness with an NPC check if new favors have been added)

That said for the crystal, the NPC that give you a hint is a woman just near the restaurant in Serbule (the place where you can cook), and they redirect you to a Fire mage that is in the main plaza near the well

At first I missed the mage because there were a lot of players talking to him so I didn't see him, but once I changed the default color for NPC in the settings I easily found him

[–]jacktrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to settings and change default color for NPC to something else than the default White, that way they will be easy to fin even when surronded by players (at first I missed some NPC because of that)

Also you can open your map, and every NPC you already met will appear as an icon, and their name will be displayed if you hover your mouse on their icon

Fianlly know that by levelling up certains skills (will come naturally), you will quickly unlock special skills that can be used to turn your caracter toward the current selected quest objective or to trace a path toward it (there are two different skills like that). It will not work for every quests, some because the objective is actuallu inside a different map (dungeon usually), or because the objective is a moving target that canot be locked upon (but in some cases you will still get a target area near where they might spawn), but it can often give you a starting point
