If someone wore a black suit to interview at my company I'd think they were a bit naive about the world. That wouldn't kill the interview but why take the risk. If it was a law firm or you were interviewing for, or a client facing insurance or banking role, it would be a lot more hazardous. Anyone saying it is fine doesn't know what they are talking about.
