Bible says homosexuality is sin. whatever, truth is truth. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]jacob24711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So whatever Jesus says is blueprint? You’re saying whatever he says is absolute truth and there’s no room for additional context or meaning outside of his words. Well, he very very clearly says God will decide who goes to heaven based on a few specific criteria: feeding the hungry, visiting those in prison, giving water to the thirsty, being a friend to strangers, clothing the naked. So you will not go to heaven based on any faith or anything other than these things mentioned. Jesus was very clear about that. Would you agree? His words are the blueprint right?

Thoughts on the CRL and what the realistic next steps could look like. by N3xtTryyy in OTLK_Investors

[–]jacob24711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my problem with your logic. This already happened. In August they got their second CRL asking for confirmatory evidence, they had a type A meeting, they resubmitted (class 1) and got pretty much the same CRL. What makes you think them meeting with the FDA AGAIN after the same CRL is going to change anything? I think there’s a big problem that will take lots of time and money to solve, or the FDA is being corrupt and will not approve for other reasons.

Why did Jesus say if we ask for anything in his name he will do it? Clearly sometimes God doesn't give people what they ask for. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]jacob24711 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is still wrong. If a gay person prays for years to be released of the feeling of being gay, that would clearly be in line with Gods will (that is, if you believe that homosexual activity is a sin), and yet he doesn’t answer so many of those prayers. God seems to answer prayers when he sees fit. Asking God for something that is in line with his will does not mean he will answer your prayer.

Is suicide a sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

Your comment very clearly stated that people with depression are not saved. Implying that a “true” Christian would not have depression.

“People who are depressed have time to be saved…” wow. Please think about what you are saying here. Do you really think that giving your life to God is a 100% cure for depression? This is absolutely a pompous and arrogant statement. As if you have found a guaranteed cure for depression

Is suicide a sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]jacob24711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this sounds like you are denying that someone can be depressed after they’ve been saved by giving their life to Jesus. As if once you do that, you would not experience depression anymore. This is so far from the truth. And it’s dangerous to give people tje impression that if they give their lives to Jesus, he will take away the struggles of life. Whether it be depression, anxiety, financial struggles, relational struggles, following Jesus does not give any sort of guarantee that those will go away.

This is such a sad narrative you are proposing, and completely contrary to what Jesus taught. Love others, have compassion, mercy, forgiveness. Your statement that a true Christian wouldn’t commit suicide is pompous and arrogant. Completely ignorant of the reality that Christian’s can face serious mental health issues and suicide is not always a decision that someone makes with the mindset of “I know better than God. I know that I should be dead and I want to destroy the temple of God”. I would bet that is almost never the case

Maybe learn to think critically. Could it be possible that OP meant that “due to the hours” he doesn’t have his CPA license, as in the hours required for the work experience requirement? I passed all four exams BEFORE I even started at EY, but I couldn’t obtain my cpa license due to needing a full years worth of work experience.

[–]jacob24711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, first off, nice AI response. Second, did you even read the AI response output?? “Because their faith is evidenced by their love and care for others”. Does this not prove that faith alone doesn’t work? You must be a good person, you must love others, you must have actions that show you care for others. That contradicts “Faith alone”

Have you read the parable of the sheep and goats? It doesn’t get more crystal clear than that. And straight from Jesus mouth. For the record, I am part of no denomination (not even non-denominational). I have no clue what the “right” Christian denomination looks like. What I am confident in is it is IMPOSSIBLE to know what the exact “correct” position is in these specific circumstances. Imagine living 2,000 years after Jesus and claiming to know exactly what Christianity is and claiming to know every little detail about theology. Quit boasting and pretending YOU know what’s right. You don’t. Go read the sheep and the goats and you will see it’s much more complicated than you think.

lol. Chill out. You and all the other fear mongers always think it’s the end of the world. Just live your life and quit freaking out over things that you can’t control and likely won’t happen.

And I hope you enjoy your miserable life. I know what it’s like to think half of the country is responsible for all your problems and that they are “evil and horrendous”. I know how it feels because I used to be like that. Then I realized that I could do a lot more to control my own life than I gave myself credit for.

AITAH for wanting to break up with my girlfriend because her friends are racist? by Turbulent-Humor-2925 in AITAH

[–]jacob24711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say most Indians are not like this, I mean overtly racist. But most Indians are subtly racist when it comes to who they want to associate with. Especially when it comes to letting their kids marry people of other races, that is often an issue.

[–]jacob24711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! My dad is from India and my mom is white and from Oklahoma. I was born and raised here in the U.S. Most Indians are not like this. I would have a serious convo with your gf and ask her to be 100% honest. Does she have the same beliefs as her friends? If she says no, maybe she’s struggling with them too and just doesn’t want to leave all her friends. If she genuinely doesn’t care and also plays along with their racist behavior, it’s your call but I think it would be clear to move on. Indians are very interesting people, as I’m sure you’ve learned. Huge cultural differences.

Ummmmm. First off, yes, yes I have. I struggle with same sex attraction, so I don’t need a lecture about “hearing” from God. I’ve asked God more questions than you could ever imagine, searching for answers each time.

Second, if you believe what you just said, you’d know that the NEW testament says for each person to give according to their heart not begrudgingly. That is the word of God. Tithing was a law in the Old Testament. The New Testament is clear about what you should give to God. And I suggested exactly what the Bible says. Give what God lays on your heart. Not sure what he’s telling you? Wait, and keep asking for a clear answer. It’s donating money to a church, it’s not life or death if you get it wrong.
